Whole 12.04 Ubuntu freezes for me randomly and the computer must be hard rebooted or cltr + alt + f1 than logging in and then sudo reboot. The system is a dual boot with WXP. I have the same problem with 12.04 LTS, everything works fine but then suddenly it freezes the whole system, this has only happened when I used Chromium. The only way to get out is to either hard reboot or start a new instance with CLRL + alt + f1 than sudo reboot. Chromium appears to lock the entire system you are logged into, and it happens both with and without flash in use. I think I found the error. Extensions, Swedish thesaurus 1.3 does not work with Libre Office 3.5. This bug is really about unity-panel-service and not Spotify even if the bug affected both flash and Spotify. To install the latest .deb files which can be downloaded by Francis De Brabandere link tips and then delete ~ /.cache / spotify only helps first start just after the deletion of spotify cache. But if you always pick off Spotify cache when you start spotify, I get no more crasher with unity-panel-service. It looks like the problem really be that flash is installed in the system. The problem I had with icedteanp plugin error: Failed to run / usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/jre/bin/java seems to have resolved itself after I installed NetX last week, I think it might be NetX as solved the problem, I also had problems with Spotify Linux preview where I got the same error message. The errors seem to have disappeared after I installed NetX. The company i work on have 103 Ubuntu computers and 80 of them are Ubuntu 8.04 LTS the rest is 9.04. We have four to test the new Ubuntu 9.10. If the 9.10 not work properly can we not upgrade any more computers and we must wait and look on next LTS version and test them very hard.
