[Bug 775462] Re: [Arrandale] Xorg freeze (hybrid graphics)

2011-05-03 Thread Antonio Litterio
You are right, this problem seems to be because in our laptop there are hybrid
video card, and at moment the only solution is disable use of one of these.
Adding same line in blacklist like Morten said, it fix mountainously the
problem, but like him I hope to see solution.
I don't understand only one thing, does hybrid card switch work with 2.6.35 or
something like blacklist is used?

[Bug 189774] Re: seahorse shows passwords without verification

2010-05-26 Thread Antonio Litterio
I've noticed this problem also with Ubuntu 10.04
I don't know the motivations about the choose, but I think it is dangerous
because a lot of password are used for many services. Think people that have
got hotmail account, with the same password you could open your msn account and
your email account...
I hope that this will change in a few time.
Sorry for my English

Antonio

[Bug 584826] [NEW] gnome panel sometimes icons disappears

2010-05-24 Thread Antonio Litterio
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

Hi folks
I'm reporting a problem in Ubuntu 10.04 32bit. I've noticed that sometimes some
icons indicator in upper Gnome panel disappear. For example sometime is
shoutdown restore button to disappear or is networkmanager or audio indicator.
I'm not able to reproduce these because they are random, I think.
I've noticed that some other people have this problem.

Antonio

[Bug 277496] Re: Intrepid: Network-Manager should document additional packages are required to enable VPN

2010-03-04 Thread Antonio Litterio
I've noticed this inconsistency also with 10.04.
I agree Dave Morley's think, because in the Network Panel I've got the
'configuration way' VPN Connection-Configure VPN but then I cannot configure
it and I don't know why.
I think can help the user adding something like Movie Player adding plug-in.

[Bug 500121] Re: non accedo a youtube

2009-12-31 Thread Antonio Litterio
Delio writes:
I'm not able to access on internet page www.youtube.com.
The PC is connect to internet with an sitecom access point (in wireless
manner), because if I connect directly (with cable) I'm not able to access to
internet.

I think that this isn't gnome-nettool bug, but the network manager
problem maybe with DNS. I will write this to him.

[Bug 500121] Re: non accedo a youtube

2009-12-31 Thread Antonio Litterio
Caro Delio
tramite cavo.

Saluti
Antonio

[Bug 474505] [NEW] [Karmic] Bump effect

2009-11-04 Thread Antonio Litterio
Public bug reported:

Hi to all,
in my local Ubuntu forum I noticed that many people have problem with an
annoying sound like bump in older amplifier.
This problem depend of power safe setting.
To solve temporarily this problem comment, in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
the row:

options snd-hda-intel power_save=10 power_save_controller=N

I think that this problem can be solved with lowering the audio before
shutdown the audio interface.

Regards

[Bug 329564] Re: notification-daemon memory leak

2009-03-10 Thread Antonio Litterio
I analyzed the source code and I found the problem in file theme.c (equal for
both standard and ubuntu theme). It was in incorrectly deallocation of
SexyUrlLabel.
With valgrind I noticed the presence of a lot of memory still reachable.
I think that probably it is libsexy problem, because if I write this simple
code:

GtkWidget *tmp = sexy_url_label_new();
gtk_widget_destroy(tmp);

or use
g_object_unref(G_OBJECT(tmp));

the GtkWidget tmp created with sexy_url_label_new() it is improperly
deallocated.

[Bug 131227] Re: notification-daemon crashed with SIGSEGV in strcmp()

2009-02-25 Thread Antonio Litterio
Ok, look at this solution...I had to add a new function used to destroy
properly notification gtk_widget (nw) and engine.
I noticed that the problem was in an uncorrected closure of a G_Modules after
the destruction of the widget.
Practically the daemon destroys engine, in particular engine-module, when it
is already used by the notification pop-up.
The correct way to destroy engine is this:
-) Destroy notification pop-up by calling gtk_distroy_widget.
-) Decrease value of engine-ref_count and if it is equal to zero,
unload engine-module and destroy engine.

Currently the daemon works in this modality:
-) It calls the invokes the destruction of a notification pop-up by
calling gtk_destroy_widget, but with this event is also called
theme_engine_unref.
-) It decreases value of engine-ref_count and if it is equal to
zero, it unloads engine-module and destroys engine.
-) It ends the destruction of a notification pop-up.

The daemon unloads engine-module when it is still in use by gtk_widget. I
wrote the function that follows the correct way for to destroy widget and
eventually engine.
This function, called theme_destroy_widget, will be called in daemon.c when it
is requested the destruction of widget in function _notify_timeout_destroy.

[Bug 131227] Re: notification-daemon crashed with SIGSEGV in strcmp()

2009-02-23 Thread Antonio Litterio
Yes they have right, this patch not destroy old engine.
But probably I found the problem. I noticed that the daemon crash when the
function destroy_engine it is call from gtk_widget_destroy in function
_notify_timeout_destroy.
If you comment the g_module_close(engine-module) in destroy_engine
function, the daemon not crash and free memory engine, but probably the
GModule *module is not closed properly.

[Bug 131227] Re: notification-daemon crashed with SIGSEGV in strcmp()

2009-02-07 Thread Antonio Litterio
I solved this bus.
The problem was the incorrect delete previous theme when this change.. in
daemon application notification_daemon
I noticed that it crash when change theme and i have found the problem in
notification_daemon in engine.
The problem it is:
when change theme in function theme_changed_cb delete the current theme, but
when timeout event start is cleared again.
I removed the theme_engine_unref in function theme_changed_cb because will
be removed from timeout.
