2010-10-05 Thread aramil
Hi

I have applied the above update to no effect i am still stuck with one

The system just tells me i have one (should be two) UNKNOWN monitor, both
screens working at this res.
Worked on beta but not on RC?

Should i need to do anything to reset/configure X?

Then i ran from menu and got the install process again and it worked and
crashed on exit.

but now helix works from menu? not sure why it just does. (no crash
report on exit)

2008-01-02 Thread Aramil
I ve just tried the 2.6.24-2-generic kernel in linux mint.Although the
sound works out of the box, gpu seems to get hotter and hotter even with
the custom dsdt file. With the patched 2.6.22 kernel and the custom
dsdt file the temp issue was fixed but now here it goes again...

[Bug 108825] Feisty not proper shutdown

2007-04-22 Thread Aramil
Public bug reported:

I have a desktop computer P4 1,5 Ghz, 512RAM and 2 IDE HDDs.

I recently installed Feisty Fawn and since then when I shut down,
instead of hearing each HDD turn off properly and after this the whole
computer, now everything shuts down at once like a hard power off.I can
even hear my HDs spinning down, which is probably not normal.

I have used Ubuntu 5.10, 6.06, 6.10, Arch Linux and Windows on this
computer and never encountered such a problem.
