[Bug 1926362] Re: maxima fails at launch at command line with said error message

2021-05-10 Thread Artur Schmitt
I have the same problem. The error message is: The assertion
realpath(s,o) on line 471 of main.c in function mbin failed: Invalid
argumentAbortado (`core' generado).

This seems also to be the problem why the wxmaxima (gui for maxima) is
not working properly.

[Bug 1725840] [NEW] resolvconf not correctly configured after update from 17.04 to 17.10

2017-10-21 Thread Artur Schmitt
Public bug reported:

After having updated my laptop from Ubuntu 17.04 to 17.10, the DNS
lookup on my wireless network connection did not work any more.

As it seems, the file /etc/resolv.conf was static and contained wrong
data assigned by the NetworkManager. When I changed the file content
manually to

  nameserver 127.0.0.53

DNS lookup worked fine. After reboot, however, I had to repeat this
operation since NetworkManager seems to have replaced the file content.

Finally, I found a solution. Running

sudo dpkg-reconfigure resolvconf

the file /etc/resolv.conf was replaced by the link

/etc/resolv.conf -> ../run/resolvconf/resolv.conf

Now, the wireless network seems to work properly.

Hence, there must be some kind of bug during the update process from
Ubuntu 17.04 to 17.10 that impedes resolvconf to be configured properly.

Best regards,

Artur

[Bug 92932] Re: Cannot unlock the session if the session is locked by screensaver or locked from start menu, KDE 3.5.6

2007-12-19 Thread Artur Schmitt
Hello,

I just upgraded from Kubuntu 7.04 to kubuntu 7.10 and have exactly the
same problem on an AMD64 machine, i.e.

... if the session is locked manually from kde menu or locked by screensaver,
I cannot unlock it. The unlock dialog appears when I touch the mouse or
 keyboard,
but when I type the password, nothing appears in the dialog box (there should
 be
a '*' for every character in password when I type ). However, I can use
 Ctrl+Alt+1
to go to virtual terminal, or use Ctrl+Alt+Backspace to restart the session
 to
 login again.

I also deleted the file

/etc/X11/Xsession.d/75custom-scim_init

Nevertheless, the problem remains.

All the best and thanks for your help

[Bug 108192] Re: some keys on my generic USB keyboard do not work properly ufter upgrading from kubuntu 6.10 to 7.04

2007-04-21 Thread Artur Schmitt
Since the bug happens when the computer is rebooted and dissapears on
the running system when hot-pluging-in the keyboard, I guess that it
could be a kind of initialization problem during the bootup process.

[Bug 108192] some keys on my generic USB keyboard do not work properly ufter upgrading from kubuntu 6.10 to 7.04

2007-04-20 Thread Artur Schmitt
Public bug reported:

The leftmost keys on my generic (105 Intl keys) USB keyboard do not work
properly after upgrading from kubuntu 6.10 to 7.04. Pressing the keys
q,w,a,s,z,x, always the combinations qw, qw, as, as,
zx and zx appear on the screen, respectively. The problem disapears
after unpluging and hot-pluging-in the keyboard. After the a reboot, the
problem cames back. This did not happen before using Kubuntu 6.10.

The bug also occurs in a terminal like Konsole or tty1 (at
Ctrl+Alt-F1).

Re: [Bug 22337] Re: all documents printed double sided (short edge) afterupgrade within Breezy

2007-03-29 Thread Artur Schmitt
Dear Carthik,

thanks for your enquiry. My entire computer configuration has changed. I
have a completely new computer and printer. Furthermore, I switched to
KDE (Kubuntu, Edgy) and so, I'm not using Evince by default any more.

Hence, I cannot answer your question. But so far, printing is working
more or less fine.

Best regards,

Artur

Is this still an issue with Edgy or Feisty Beta?
 Please let us know.

 Thank you.
