[Bug 684519] [NEW] Scrolling in single click to open mode leaves behind text underlines
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Nautilus doesn't appear to clean up the text underlines in single click mode properly. This can result in several files having the hover state underline when using the mouse scroll wheel to stop hovering items. Steps to reproduce: # Enable single click to open items mode in the File Management Preferences dialog. # Find a directory with a large number of files. # Change the Nautilus view to list view. # Hover an icon (the text should be underlined). # Scroll down the list with the mouse scroll wheel. The text underline stays on the previous file, and another appears on the new file. Leaving the window or passing the mouse over the offending items removes all the hover underlines. [Bug 628373] [NEW] Password Manager Interprets Escape Characters
Public bug reported: My wi-fi password contains the string \n amongst a number of other random characters. Recently I have noticed that the wi-fi will no longer connect, and when I click show password there is a non-printable character where there should be the characters \n. The first time I enter my password it connects fine, but the second time it has the broken password. This has only started happening since upgrading to 10.04.1. Steps to reproduce: # Change your wi-fi password to include the characters \n # Connect to your wi-fi with the new password, saving it in the keyring. # Log off/restart your computer. # Connect to the wi-fi again. Desired outcome: wi-fi connects. Actual outcome: wi-fi does not connect. Inspection will reveal that the \n in the password now appears as a new line character. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Password Manager Interprets Escape Characters https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/628373 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 297151] [NEW] Visiting web page crashes X server and locks up machine
Public bug reported: Visited page http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=G31M3-Fclass=mb from http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=enq=G31M3-F in Firefox. * Halfway through page load, the X server appears to restart. * A black screen with the default X cursor appears for several seconds, and X appears to restart again. * This happens several times before the machine grinds to a halt. At this point the cursor will no longer move, and ctrl+alt+backspace does nothing. Pressing the power button will issue a system beep (same as you'd get pressing ctrl+alt+delete from the terminal,) but the system does nothing. Hard reset is the only solution. Using a fully updated Intrepid desktop. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Visiting web page crashes X server and locks up machine https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/297151 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 251028] [NEW] Drag Drop operation temporarily disables system when remote filesystem times out
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus When working on a remote filesystem (SSH in my case,) I presume my sometimes loses connection has to reconnect. This is usually transparent, but sometimes takes a moment. Essentially if I want to update a file or change directories, it takes slightly longer than usual if it hasn't been used for a while. This is fine, and a part of normal operation I presume. However, when I go to drag drop a file after this has happened, the cursor gets caught in the middle of a drag drop operation until the connection is established again. What happens: * I leave an SSH connection to sftp://ash.ms/ open in nautilus for some time, and do some work elsewhere. * I come back and drag a file from the remote server to my desktop. * Mid-drag, the system realises it's no longer connected (I presume), and the icon I'm dragging stops being dragged. I can move the cursor around the screen freely, but it is stuck in the hand-drag shape. I can not click anything, select another window, use any key combinations (aside ctrl+alt+backspace), or switch desktops. * Eventually the system unlocks (after twenty seconds or so, the last time.) The icon I was dragging is either released or still attached to my cursor depending on whether I un-clicked my mouse button during this process, and I can successfully drag files once more. I'm using Ubuntu 8.04, but this has been happening for quite some time. [Bug 243431] Re: Can't copy to disk mounted under a Samba share if space doesn't exist in the share
In this case I've shared /home/ash on the server, and mounted it on my client. I'm trying to copy to the subdirectory Backups which as you can see is mounted with 284 gig free on the server, but Nautilus doesn't recognise that there's more space in Backups than on the rest of the share and won't let me copy anything larger than the 13.8 gig. * I'm using Ubuntu, 8.04 Hardy Heron on my desktop. * The server is still running 7.10 I believe; the kernel is 2.6.22-15-generic, and apt-cache show samba reports I'm using 3.0.26a-1ubuntu2. -- Can't copy to disk mounted under a Samba share if space doesn't exist in the share https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/243431 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 243431] Re: Can't copy to disk mounted under a Samba share if space doesn't exist in the share
Additionally, I have verified that Samba is writing to both devices, and not writing to the original file system underneath the mount. To be clear, I believe there is a bug in the way Nautilus calculates free disk space in this circumstance. I've attached a screenshot of what Nautilus says, and the output of df -h on the server. I've helpfully scribbled over it to hopefully make things clearer. ** Attachment added: image2392.png http://launchpadlibrarian.net/15638890/image2392.png -- Can't copy to disk mounted under a Samba share if space doesn't exist in the share https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/243431 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 243431] Re: Can't copy to disk mounted under a Samba share if space doesn't exist in the share
Sorry, I mightn't have been clear here. The 10MB file system is mounted to a directory inside the 5MB file system on the remote server. When I mount the share on my client I see 5MB of free space, and the directory/mount where the 10MB filesystem is mounted. I can write to either file system, but can not write more than 5MB regardless of which file system I put it on. I hope this clears things up. -- Can't copy to disk mounted under a Samba share if space doesn't exist in the share https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/243431 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 222150] Re: Restore from trash appears to do a file copy
I'm having this problem, except the file I'm trying to move out of the trash produces the error that there's not enough free space. [Bug 243431] [NEW] Can't copy to disk mounted under a Samba share if space doesn't exist in the share
Public bug reported: I've got a directory on my server with several mount points inside, shared using Samba. Using Nautilus, I can't copy files to the mounted disks inside the share, unless ample space exists on the parent disk. The space exists on the mounted disks, but Nautilus doesn't recognise that there is indeed more space available and refuses to copy. The only workaround is to use each disk as its own share, and mount them all on the client.
