[Bug 969121] Re: Cannot boot Live CD with Nvidia GTX 550Ti
Many Thanks germulvey. While technically this does not fix the bug. It has triaged it for me to the point I have a working system. I shall post in the related Ubuntu Forum threads this as a possible short term measure to bypass the impasse the bug causes on installation. I agree with Ilja that this is a workaround not a fix though. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/969121 Title: Cannot boot Live CD with Nvidia GTX 550Ti To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux-kernel-headers/+bug/969121/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 969121] [NEW] Cannot boot Live CD with Nvidia GTX 550Ti
Public bug reported: Experience same problem with 11.10 and Precise Beta. Have tested this on AMD Athhlon II and Intel Sandybridge systems using built in GFX, Radeon HD 6450, nvidia 9800 GTX and the 550ti in order to isolate the card as the problem. Live CD will not boot into x-server Using Nvidia GTX 550Ti card. Boot only suceeds to console based section of boot and then hangs with no error message. Card is operating fine with previously installed Xubuntu 11.10 with Proprietary Nvidia drivers. [Bug 583036] [NEW] Cannot escape from Boot time Disk Check
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: plymouth Using Lucid i386 Desktop. Problem happens when normal boot is interrupted for regular disk check. I get the message Press C to escape Disk Checks in progress. Pressing C does not interrupt the disk check. Pressing C has no effect at all. I have not found a workaround, there seems to be no option but to allow disk check to finish. A forced shutdown does not work, at next boot the check just starts again. If check is left to finish, normal boot resumes with no other problems aparent. ** Affects: plymouth (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: boot check disk -- Cannot escape from Boot time Disk Check https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/583036 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 571707 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/571707 I think this bug is related to 57107, but is separate to it. 57107 is focussed of the speed of the disk check whereas my report was concerned with the fact that the disk check cannot be cancelled once it has started. if the two issues are caused by the same thing then this is a duplicate. But i filed this in case 57107 gets fixed but you still can't escape the disk check -- Cannot escape from Boot time Disk Check https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/583036 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 477050] Re: Fresh Install of Karmic, Boot ends with Kernel Panic
I did some work with some folk from #ubuntu and we found a few things out about this bug. My problem is with the 32bit PAE kernel. We looked closely at the panic message and it suggested a problem with PAE. So we installed Karmic again with network disconnected. It seems Ubiquity decided i'd be better off with PAE during install, downloads it and installs it. With network disconnected it has to default to generic kernel and installs and boots without incident. People in #ubuntu were suggesting I file a bug against Ubiquity, however I think it's doing what it was designed to do? -- Fresh Install of Karmic, Boot ends with Kernel Panic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/477050 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
