Plus his defense is sort of underrated. Nowhere near as good as Tucker, but most definitely a better perimeter defender than IT/Green. Oh and finally he's pretty damn efficient without forcing shots like the other two. Just seems to have a higher Basketball IQ in general, he knows his limits and lets the offense come to him. I was a bit lax, but not overly so. Unwitting factors in my favor were a miserable cold that I had for nearly two weeks and worry over my fiance being in the hospital. Christmas eve we ate Chinese, as is our tradition. I didn't do too bad - two dumplings, a bowl of soup, an entree I shared with my mom, and no rice. For Christmas dinner we made salad with dried cherries and goat cheese, filet mignon (8 oz, bigger than I usually eat), roasted asperagus, roasted new potatoes, and citrus fruit salad. I had one glass of wine. Normally I would bake pie, but instead I made a lower carb option -- apple crisp. Other than that, I stuck to my daily caloric goals and exercised even with the cold from hell, although at a somewhat lower than usual pace in deference to my poor lungs. That said, I am going on a cruise next week. It was supposed to be my honeymoon, but since my fiance was in the hospital on what was going to be our wedding day, it's more of a pre-honeymoon now. The wedding is being rescheduled, but the cruise has been paid for and can't be canceled without penalty. Oh, well. I doubt I will go pig wild because the fiance is on a strict low fat/carb diet. Thank goodness they provide those options on the ships. I'm going to do my level best not to go crazy. I did well on the last cruise, so I think I'll be okay this time, too. And when I get back, my nose will be back to the weight reduction grind stone. I am so close to a bmi that is overweight rather than obese. That is my second big goal (my first was getting under 200 lbs) and I would like to achieve it soon. After that, my third and final goal will be to have a normal bmi. Hello, I think that this is a very important comment, that should be taken in account by Linux/GNU developers to improve this wonderful Open Source System I've use at work for 5 years (five years) with no problem, after all copy-paste can be also a bad thing and I've worked happily for 5 years even if this bug seems very strange for a system that has given me much less headache than Microsoft Word. I've written two important documents longer than 30 pages with Microsoft Word and this perfect program that I paid with good money refused to print both after page 30, I've had to use open office for free and everything worked... I bought an external CD burner in 2000 in a Mac store for a iMac OS 8.6, it burned 1 CD then I got always errors... If you want to feed Microsoft and Mac you can, I will feed the penguin. I don't use them to check. No, only a few applications actually do work. Most application don't work and will never work. Do you now how many applications are available in Ubuntu Software Centre? Install all of them, every single application and start testing all of them. Then there are applications which aren't even available in Ubuntu Software Centre. Start testing those applications too. A clipboard should work for EVERY application, not just a part of the applications which are installed by default. That's why it shouldn't be fixed on a per-app basis, but it should be fixed in the core. That's how it works in other operating systems and that's how it belongs to work. In Mac OS X and Windows you can install every application you want and it doesn't matter where the application comes from, it just works, without the developer of the application having to think about implementing a clipboard. That's how it should work! You can expect from all developers to implement a clipboard. That's why only a few application for Linux have the clipboard implemented. Just search for replies from a person called pyrates in this bug report. He knows what he's talking about. He's one the few who knows how it should be implemented and who's able to explain why the current implementation is so bad and completely wrong. No one is maintaing those clipboard managers, so you just can't rely on them. An operating should have a proper working clipboard of its own. You just install the operating system and then install whatever application you like and it should just work, without the need of installing a clipboard manager, without the need to keep the source window open and without developers having to implement a clipboard in their applications. Another copy-paste problem... I'm using evolution as mail client at work. The problem is that the mails I send are not visible on some outlook or send it in loop, but... The mail server we use is Zimbra, that has a web-mail, so I use it to send mails to someone i know as a wonderful outlook, but... If I've written something in evolution and then I try to copy-past the body from evolution to the zimbra compose form in firefox, I cannot, but if I open gedit, then I paste to gedit then select, then copy then paste to zimbra composer it works! wonderful how simple is to send a mail from ubuntu to windows (this is probably due to a but in outlook, of course...)! If you've got the money, just buy a Mac. It also has Unix-roots, it's fast and stable and everything just works. Like you, I agree a better clipboard implementation is needed. But suggesting one succumb to non-free software as an alternative is unethical. Features are important, but in enumerating them, you suggest to us that your values are limited to superficial engineering values (speed, robustness, portability, features, and so on). Many of us, while considering those important as well, have human rights preceding these things. But that you are here in the first place, suggests that you came not out of principle, but as an alternative option, another flavour, if you will, of what you'd naturally prefer. Having said that, all I can say is that you have unfortunately missed the entire point of the philosophy of free software and would do well to either broaden your mind and actually read the GNU literature (gnu.org/philosophy), or stick to the McSoftware. On another note, there is nothing to stop you from patching Xorg yourself. If upstream does not cooperate, hear them out and listen to what they have to say. There are typically two reasons why patches are not accepted on an active project: (1) Your idea is sound, but your technical approach is lacking; (2) Philosophically, what you are trying to do is not in harmony with the project's goals, the technical approach irrelevant. If you disagree with their (2) response, there is nothing to stop you from forking the project. Indeed, this is done more often than you think. glibc, the heart of the GNU operating system, was swapped right out under your feet in Karmic with most people being none the wiser. It was replaced with eglibc. eglibc is a fork of glibc, for philosophical reasons. If you don't want to fork it, there is nothing to stop you from patching at the package maintainers level. Indeed, most of the official packages contain distribution level patches. You can see this in the debian/patches directory in many of the Debian / Ubuntu source packages. I've tried also myself to replicate this bugs, but I couldn't. The things I've said are the last I've done before the system became unusable I think that this may be related to some other component of gnome that frequently, one or twice EACH DAY!, causes the system to become instable up to the extreme that ALT+CTRL+F1 cause a white screen, it seems to me to have some bad version of windows. I don't know how to replicate the problem, but I can surely say that I have one or two reboot each day, and so I'm thinking about going back to 7.10 with which I had no problem. Yesterday After opening this pdf http://82.186.164.20/siap4futur/Pdf/annullamento.pdf firefox hanged and then evolution crashed and then I try to reboot from the up tools bar, but it hanged too then I tried ALT+CTR+F1 to go to the first text console but the screen became white (is this a variant of the blue screen?) Blindly I managed to login as root and issue a reboot command.
