[Bug 1389077] Re: [HP ProBook 4530s] Intel Powerclamp is Slowing CPU

2015-04-29 Thread Bathroom Humor
I can see the value in this sort of thing, as well, when power or heat
constraints exist.
Which is good for me since my laptop has bad heat dissipation. But this
implementation is pretty bad. I've noticed that the idle injection doesn't stop
for me until the process that caused it is killed. So if it starts up while
playing a video on youtube, it won't stop injecting until I kill plugin
container, even if the temps go below 60C. So that's truly annoying.
Also, my high temp threshold seems to be around 70C, which I feel is much too
low. Is there any way to adjust that parameter, for future reference? I will
likely just disable powerclamp until it works better on my machine.

[Bug 1164558] Re: Not able to use updater: You are not allowed to perform this action

2014-04-04 Thread Bathroom Humor
I'm in the same boat. I thought I had broken it myself but thankfully this
might get enough attention to be fixed quick. :( This has been the only serious
issue I've encountered with 14.04.
I can't say I have much to contribute, but it's good to not be alone in this.

[Bug 1164558] Re: Not able to use updater: You are not allowed to perform this action

2014-04-04 Thread Bathroom Humor
The symptoms are all over the place.
Can't get elevated privliges in GUI applications, can't mount other
drives/partitions, no shutting down from the GUI prompts. Then other issues
like audio not working at all, and the fact that Compiz has gone somewhat
berzerk. It's using 270MB of memory, and tears through my CPU at the slightest
action.

After todays update, most of my problems have gone away, thankfully.
However, I'm still getting some warning messages on bootup. When I click on the
report button, nothing happens. I had this issue in previous releases, but not
in 14.04 until now.

[Bug 1163166] [NEW] Quicklist editing is a feature worth having

2013-04-02 Thread Bathroom Humor
Public bug reported:

There are a few programs that feature quicklist editing already, but it
would be nice to have this bundled into the same program I use to edit
so many aspects of my Unity desktop. Quicklists are also an important
and unique part of Unity to begin with, so having support for altering
them makes plenty of sense.

This is more of a wishlist item than anything, but I'd enjoy seeing it
included one day.

** Description changed:

Sometimes (I'm not sure if it only happens after a certain amount of
time or number of resumes) when my computer is suspended, by myself or
on its own, it will not connect to my wireless router upon resume. It
will display a verification notice for my routers password over and over
and over, but never connect. Wired internet still works fine. I keep
having this problem show up every other release or so, across multiple
computers. But it was also present in 12.04 so having it reappear in
12.10 is not fun at all.

The wireless is working before it resumes, and the only method of fixing
the issue is restarting the machine.

Tried testing the kernel, but everytime I'd boot into it the system
would start freezing up within a few minutes with a process called
gvfsd-http going crazy on my CPU. So that didn't work out unfortunately

[Bug 1071575] [NEW] Wireless stops working after suspend, keeps asking for wireless password.

2012-10-25 Thread Bathroom Humor
Public bug reported:

Sometimes (I'm not sure if it only happens after a certain amount of
time or number of resumes) when my computer is suspended, by myself or
on its own, it will not connect to my wireless router upon resume. It
will display a verification notice for my routers password over and over
and over, but never connect. Wired internet still works fine. I keep
having this problem show up every other release or so, across multiple
computers. But it was also present in 12.04 so having it reappear in
12.10 is not fun at all.

The wireless is working before it resumes, and the only method of fixing
the issue is restarting the machine.

[Bug 1054776] Re: Don't include remote searches in the home lens

2012-09-24 Thread Bathroom Humor
If they'd just put it in its own lens and let us choose what scopes appear in
the home lens, the issue would be fixed. Not only would it keep us from seeing
suggestions and sending data in the main dash hub if we don't want to, but it
would allow other people who DO want that to keep it there. I don't think this
simple choice is really too much to ask for but if is too much to do before
12.10, I would at least hope they complete it next cycle. Because geez, it
would honestly make everyone happy.
I agree it was taken out way of proportion in many situations, and it sounds
really useful SOMETIMES. This little bit of compromise for the greater good
wouldn’t hurt though.

[Bug 1054776] Re: Don't include remote searches in the home lens

2012-09-23 Thread Bathroom Humor
I've made this comment on the issue on an OMGubuntu article:
Shopping should have it's own lens, making room for other shopping related
scopes to integrate into it later (like newegg and whatnot).
And I personally think that the home lens should have access to every scope in
the dash, but which ones it displays should be optional and easy to configure!
This would avoid the cries of horror from those who believe canonical are
giving amazon the ability to somehow monitor all of our searches. Somehow...

[Bug 975350] Re: Custom background color option broken

2012-05-03 Thread Bathroom Humor
This is one of those things new users are going to notice if they ever
learn about CCSM/myunity/ubuntu tweak etc. It's a very obvious bug. I
hope somebody will pick it up soon. Luckily i have a dark background but
if it were brighter or closer to pink, I would be annoyed.

[Bug 974761] [NEW] After waking from suspend, computer asks for security key over and over but never connects to the wireless network.

2012-04-05 Thread Bathroom Humor
Public bug reported:

Whenever I leave my computer long enough for it to suspend for a few
