2012-04-07 Thread Beata Graff av dalHagen
I updated my master branch to Ubuntu-3.2.0-22.35, checked out a temp
branch, unset the SMP support option in the x86 generic kernel, and
built with 'skipabi=true skipmodule=true fakeroot debian/rules binary-
generic. This build failed in the same place.

[Bug 939251] [NEW] Music sounds 'clipped', distorted.

2012-02-22 Thread Beata Graff av dalHagen
Public bug reported:

This may be a libao issue?

Pianobar logs into my account, gets my stations, plays the station I select.
However, it sounds like it's all 'clipped' samples. I tried changing the format:
aacplus, mp3, and mp3-hifi all have this heavy clipping.

As a note for testing: I started pithos, set it to each of the three formats
(admittedly had to install more gstreamer codecs) and the sound quality for each
was about what I expected. No hint of clipping.

This is basically a new install of xubuntu oneiric.

[Bug 69754] Re: Edgy: kopete sending nbsp; instead of space

2008-09-20 Thread Beata Graff av dalHagen
Just ran into this bug again. Local is Kopete 0.12.7 with KDE 3.5.9,
remote is Trillian 3.1 (May 19, 2008), not pro.

Remote reports that the first message from me contains many nbsp:
(I typed 'Woof!' followed by Enter, remote copy/pasted back)

Woof! nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;
nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;
nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;

nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;
nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;
nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;

and that subsequent messages only follow with deliberate multiple
spaces.

Hope this helps.

[Bug 245272] Re: Native SCSI library no longer works

2008-07-17 Thread Beata Graff av dalHagen
Found the bug, oddly enough, in /etc/fstab.

What appears to have happened:

System originally installed with Ubuntu 7.04 which used the IDE driver
layer (thus the cdrom device was /dev/hda) and then dist-upgraded to
7.10 and then 8.04, which uses libata/SCSI (which moved the cdrom device
to /dev/scd0 but didn't update the fstab entry). So, aparantly wine
looks at /etc/fstab to find the device corresponding to the cdrom
defined in the [drives] tab of winecfg.

I'm afraid I can't answer in detail right now. I know it worked on
7.10 with the native package, and I'm pretty sure it worked on 8.04
before release.
I'll have to dust off a spare drive, find my install CDs, and check in
a little while.
