[Bug 694625] Re: USB startup disk creator hangs on Finishing

2013-09-03 Thread beli
This is probably a duplicate - I just tried making a bootable USB with
ubuntu-12.04.3-desktop-i386.iso on my Ubuntu 13.04 64 bit, with a new Sony 8
gig stick, twice. The first time I came back to find that it had crashed and
launched the bug reporter, and the second it just stuck on Finishing, and the
light on the USB had stopped blinking. All the options are set at their default
values.
Someone here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1625149 had recommended
trying the KDE version (usb-creator-kde), I'll try it and get back.

And it worked! Where usb-creator-gtk fails, usb-creator-kde works.
Incidentally, the filesystem on the USB stick is FAT32.

[Bug 788167] Re: CUPS cannot print to Kerberos-authenticated SMB print queue

2011-07-21 Thread Beli
Hi, in openSUSE there is a package called samba-krb-printing that does just
that - serves as a wrapper for smbspool that enables correct kerberos auth. And
it works, I used it in openSUSE to print to windows print servers in AD domain.
I suppose it could be easily ported to Ubuntu, I may even do it myself if I
find some spare time.
Best regards.

[Bug 264324] [NEW] Doesnt respect date display format

2008-09-03 Thread Emil Beli
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

Linux, no matter ubuntu or openSUSE (I have both). Doesn't respect date format,
neither from system setting nor from LC_TIME. If my system is English US, with
modified regional settings to display date DD/MM/, it always displays
MM/DD/ no matter of other variables.
Very very bad. Make a format setting inside thunderbird, or make it respect
what I put to my system
