[Bug 1946507] Re: Ubuntu Install Setup Freeze

2021-12-03 Thread Ben Reaves
Confirmed - this bug impacts the 21.10 installer of Ubuntu Budgie and
appears like it is an upstream issue as well given I found this. This
bug does not impact 20.04 installers. (could not find 21.04 installer,
so not tested)

Also I know initially I did not have this issue before I repartitioned
with Minitool - I felt it was safer to repartition and move things
around how I wanted from that tool first before proceeding and then the
installer broke after after that. I ran diskcheck repairs from Windows
and never found an issue either, so no idea what happened - but I am
guessing some code change causes it to get hung up on something NTFS
related when it shouldn't be.

[Bug 1946507] Re: Ubuntu Install Setup Freeze

2021-12-03 Thread Ben Reaves
I also get this error with Ubuntu Budgie 21.10, may try going to 21.04
and see if it changes. I think this is occurring due to the "ntfsresize
tainted" error in the log - I do have Windows on half the partition and
had used "MiniTool Partition Wizard to clear half the drive first. Might
be a path to replicating the error.

Step 1) Install Windows on half the drive.
Step 2) Install Windows on the other half
Step 3) Use MiniTool Partition Wizard and clear half the drive.
Step 4) Attempt to install Ubuntu - If you get past the "Updates and other
software" screen then go the recommended route and then click the go back
button instead of confirming that you want to go forward.
Step 5) Watch as every subsequent install fails.

[Bug 819775] Re: Broadcasting input across multiple terminator windows repeats keypresses many times

2017-07-09 Thread Ben Reaves
I am also experiencing this issue on GalliumOS (Ubuntu with XFCE, 16.04,
Xenial release).

Not sure yet what causes it, but it has occurred 3 times now and restart
the app does resolve it, for awhile any ways. This is a pretty serious
issue. I log into multiple systems, so having a terminal that I do not
have to worry about bleeding input on is pretty critical. May have to
find an alternative that is more reliable, which is sad because I have
found how to configure this terminal perfectly in every other respect.
