[Bug 498911] Re: nspluginwrapper fills .xsession-errors until disk space is exhausted
Shouldn't this bug be broadened a bit? Allowing .xsession-errors to grow indefinitely without any kind of log rotation in place is a design flaw. The file should be rotated and old files compressed. A gzipped 5GiB log file takes up about 20MiB on disk. Attaching a gzipped log file which repeats, among other things, the string Authentication deferred - ignoring client message about 11 times a second towards the end. Something else is repeated loads of times somewhere in the middle as well. This should not be allowed to happen. ** Attachment added: .xsession-errors.gz https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nspluginwrapper/+bug/498911/+attachment/3428846/+files/.xsession-errors.gz -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/498911 Title: nspluginwrapper fills .xsession-errors until disk space is exhausted To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nspluginwrapper/+bug/498911/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 581778] Re: No internal mic / line-in on Intel HDA G45 DEVIBX / Realtek ALC 275
I have a Sony VAIO VPCS12X9E with the same sound codec, and I experience the same problem with kernel 3.5.0-18! My corresponding output can be found at http://www.alsa- project.org/db/?f=f43681ad14b3fd06b926753435f98c17d57e053b Interestingly, I know that the internal mic actually worked in Ubuntu 11.10. [Bug 747792] Re: chromium browser closes when minimize button is pressed
Oh. Hm. Interesting. Apparently, it doesn't *close* per se; it just never arrives in the sidebar, as it were. It is still possible to summon the lost window via Alt+Tab. Obviously, this impairs functionality, especially for users totally new to computers (currently typing on my grandmother's very first computer; obviously I threw Windows all to hell). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/747792 Title: chromium browser closes when minimize button is pressed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/747792/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 850161] [NEW] MPlayer crashes on Smacker video playback
Public bug reported: When trying to play a video file encoded with the Smacker video codec (and audio), MPlayer begins playback, and manages to output a few frames worth of video and a fraction of a second of audio before crashing. Console output in attachment named mplayer.stdout. I tried running gdb as per the instructions at http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports_what.html; I'm however not sure if I did it right. GDB output in attachment named mplayer.gdb. Playback works perfectly when I use a binary I compiled (with default options) from vanilla source from mplayerhq.hu, so I'm guessing the problem lies in the Ubuntu version..? Perhaps relevant is that even though the console output suggests that ffmpeg is used for decoding, using ffmpeg directly to convert the Smacker video file to something more palatable works perfectly. This is the part that has me baffled. [Bug 198666] Re: VFS: busy inodes on changed media.
This affects me on 11.04. Even worse, it also affects those pesky usb thumb drives that for some reason also emulates a CD-ROM drive, rendering the entire drive unusable until you eject the emulated CD- ROM drive. [Bug 740126] Re: Something blocks compiz randomly several times per day
I just discovered something. Last time the bug manifested itself, I tried to blindly enter my password. Twice. It didn't work, and I restarted. That led to me being unable to connect via WLAN. Further scrutiny revealed that my login password had been appended to my AP PSK. That tells me that gnome-screensaver unlocked, and that I on my second unlock attempt blindly wrote my password in the WLAN connection prompt. So, everything is there, just not visible. Also, could the WLAN connection dialog in the background have triggered this bug, or was that a lucky coincidence? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/740126 Title: Something blocks compiz randomly several times per day -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I wish I could reproduce Alex's success on my own laptop, but I can't. [Bug 50770] Re: knetworkmanager no network device found if wired connection plugged in before starting
The workaround posted by GeekSmith works. However, I think this is a more elegant (and, possibly, _the_) solution: One of the two files mentioned contains this section: policy group=netdev allow own=org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerInfo/ allow send_destination=org.freedesktop.NetworkManager/ allow send_interface=org.freedesktop.NetworkManager/ /policy However, the equivalent in the other file is: policy group=netdev allow send_destination=org.freedesktop.NetworkManager/ allow send_interface=org.freedesktop.NetworkManager/ /policy Adding the missing line to the second file, and of course adding my user name to the netdev group, solved the problem for me.
