[Bug 450569] Re: package openoffice.org-emailmerge 1:3.0.1-9ubuntu3.1 failed to install/upgrade:
Me too had got the problem during updating openoffice so I try to "play" with /etc/init.d/docvert-converter and when I try to start it I saw that it couldn't because find "/var/run/docvert" directory. I simply create this dir and I retry to upgrade my system and all works correctly :) So my simply work-around is: # mkdir /var/run/docvert Bye! -- package openoffice.org-emailmerge 1:3.0.1-9ubuntu3.1 failed to install/upgrade: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/450569 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 236676] Re: OpenOffice 2.4 in Hardy AMD64, Locking assertion failure
The problem is that proposed repository gives a release candidate version of openoffice (exactly rc1) so there are two way to solve the problem: - get the basic (and not beautiful) user interface until there are any updates - do the downgrade (the solution that I try) To do the downgrade the only way is to uninstall all OO packages (whit apt o synaptic) then perform another new installation of "real stable" packages (Package_Name-3ubuntu6). Probably to have a fully stable system is better to disable proposed and backports repository. -- OpenOffice 2.4 in Hardy AMD64, Locking assertion failure https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/236676 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I'm using ATI graphics restricted driver and I'm using Hardy AMD64 too, same problem after last update. I try your workaround and it work. [Bug 136963] Gutsy Gibbon Tribe-5 broken vesa yet
Public bug reported: Like with Feisty Live CD also Gusty can't start X server, also in Safe graphics mode. When LiveCD try to start GDM It appears only blank screen and after about one minute the X server error message. I have to change to consol (Ctrl+Alt+F1) then run dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg and set: vesa driver, resolution 1280x800, correct monitor frequency (advanced mode configuration) After post-installation reboot I install xorg-driver-fglrx and it works perfectly. [Bug 89853] Re: [regression] 7.2 broke vesa: "No matching modes found"
I have a laptop Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo 1536 with ATI Mobility Radeon x1400, and I have the same problem using the Beta-live-cd (today is 19th isn't today that Feisty Stable have to be released?) I resolved the problem installing with alternate-cd, then in the console I've done: apt-get update, apt-get upgrade (but it isn't enough; if I stop here I receive the same error) and at the end I mustrn apt-get install xorg- driver-fglrx and run sudo aticonfig --initial. Only after all this steps I can run startx successfully. -- [regression] 7.2 broke vesa: "No matching modes found" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/89853 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
