[Bug 665243] [NEW] zsh terminfo not found in schroot environment after upgrade

[Bug 204372] Re: Positioning of gnome-do window is sometimes erratic

2010-09-02 Thread Bismark
Running Lucid x64 and Gnome-Do 0.8.3.1+dfsg-1ubuntu1 with dual monitors
in a stacked configuration. On the top monitor Gnome-Do appears right in
the center of the screen when called, however on the bottom monitor
(laptop screen) it is almost all the way down at the bottom of the
screen. This means that when I call it on the bottom monitor, lists of
results is displayed off screen.

[Bug 277924] Re: sysklogd cannot find map file

2009-01-21 Thread Bismark
If you look at the top of /etc/init.d/klogd there is the following
comment and option line

# Use KLOGD=-k /boot/System.map-$(uname -r) to specify System.map
#
KLOGD=-P $kmsgpipe

I changed it to the following like the comment suggested.
KLOGD=-P $kmsgpipe -k /boot/System.map-$(uname -r)

I now no longer get the cannot find map file error message but I do get the
following messages:
kernel: Loaded 33441 symbols from /boot/System.map-2.6.27-9-generic.
kernel: Cannot verify that symbols match kernel version.
kernel: Loaded 19498 symbols from 93 modules

[Bug 242638] Re: Thinkpad freezes when undocking from Ultrabay if CD/DVD-ROM drive has not been deleted manually

2008-08-04 Thread Bismark
Same issues on a T60p on 2.6.24-19-generic.

Additional info from my working with this. The thinkpad_acpi module
does not load bay support as the generic ACPI bay module is suppose to
handle this now. However looking at dmesg you see this.

$ dmesg | grep bay
[ 70.229156] ACPI: \_SB_.PCI0.IDE0.PRIM.MSTR: found ejectable bay
[ 70.229186] ACPI: Error installing bay notify handler

so under /proc/acpi there is no bay reference nor is there anything
under /proc/acpi/ibm/

According to this thread on ibm-acpi-dev list
http://www.nabble.com/Re:--ibm-acpi-devel---proc-acpi-ibm-bay-gone-with-ThinkPad-ACPI-Extras-v0.19-20080107-2.6.24-p15221781.html

booting without acpi support in libata may solve the problem though I've
never been able to get that to work.

[Bug 185752] Re: dbus and f-spot not does not start f-spot

2008-04-10 Thread Bismark
I tried the fix listed in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dbus/+bug/207157 by creating
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/15dbus file. It seems to have fixed the problem,
however use-session-dbus is listed in /etc/X11/Xsession.options and I
don't know what if any conflict this will cause.

[Bug 214226] [NEW] lomoco udev rule not working

2008-04-08 Thread Bismark
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: lomoco

When a mouse supported by lomoco (listed in /etc/udev/lomoco.rules) is
detected it is suppose to run /lib/udev/udev.lomoco using the settings
in /etc/default/lomoco.

My mouse is listed in lomoco.rules but when I unplug and plug it back in
the rule does not fire.

I have to manually run lomoco to get it to set the resolution on my
mouse properly.

Unfortunately 2.6.24-14 doesn't have a virtualbox-ose-

Trying to run amazonmp3 and it crashes with terminate called after
throwing an instance of 'Gdk::PixbufError After trying the triage fix
of moving /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/loaders it ran fine. Next I tried the
downgrade to 2.1 and that fixed the issue plus didn't break other

[Bug 185221] Re: Tomboy Notes applet not running or starting up

2008-03-02 Thread Bismark
Same issue here with Xubuntu Hardy. I can start tomboy from the
console, it does however give the message Tomboy remote control
disabled (DBus exception): Unable to open the session message bus. Then
when I close the application I receive a seg fault (core dump).

When trying to start it from the menu it never runs. I took a look in
/usr/share/applications and the exec line in the .desktop file is
tomboy --search. When I try running that from the console it won't
even start, just gives the DBus exception.

Actually the xorg.conf that I have has been copied from prior installs
on my laptop. That being said however the default xorg.conf file that I

[Bug 189042] Re: wine crashed with Error of failed request: GLXBadContext fglrx AIGLX are enabled

2008-02-28 Thread Bismark
Sorry I had stopped using AIGLX\Compositing and forgot about this one
that I reported.

I just reenabled AIGLX Compositing and tried to run the program under
wine, unfortunately now I just get a straight seg fault core dump. The
screen corruption I was seeing doesn't seem to be reappearing now so
maybe an update fixed that, I do have a photo of it however that I'm
attaching along with my Xorg log.

Sorry about the picture quality it was taken with a cellphone camera.

[Bug 121653] Re: [gutsy] fglrx breaks over suspend/resume

2008-02-25 Thread Bismark
Ben Collins: snip I would be very interested in whether this
affected current hardy kernel.

I can confirm that it is affect the current Hardy x86_64 build I'm
running. I have switched to uswsusp to get suspend\hibernate working.
It isn't pretty but it's functional.

[Bug 189042] [NEW] wine crashed with Error of failed request: GLXBadContext fglrx AIGLX are enabled

2008-02-04 Thread Bismark
Public bug reported:

Running Hardy with current updates as of Feb. 04, 2008.

When AIGLX is enabled trying to start a program in wine results in the
following:
libGL error: drmMap of framebuffer failed (Cannot allocate memory)
libGL error: reverting to (slow) indirect rendering
X Error of failed request: GLXBadContext
Major opcode of failed request: 162 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 5 (X_GLXMakeCurrent)
Serial number of failed request: 23
Current serial number in output stream: 23

Disabled AIGLX allows the program to run even though it does spit out the
following:
libGL error: drmMap of framebuffer failed (Cannot allocate memory)
libGL error: reverting to (slow) indirect rendering

Also when AIGLX is disabled there is pixel corruption in the lower right
hand corner of the screen (I think this is a known and already reported
fglrx issue however).

[Bug 188396] [NEW] evince-thumbnailer locks up Thunar upon exit

2008-02-02 Thread Bismark
Public bug reported:

Release: 8.04 Hardy (Development Branch)
Packages: evince-gtk-2.21.90-0ubuntu1, thunar-0.9.0-2ubuntu1,
thunar-0.9.0-2ubuntu1

Steps Performed:
Open Thunar
Navigate to folder with pdf files
Exit Thunar

Thunar stays open instead of closing however it is unresponsive.
Running 'ps aux | grep -i Thunar' shows the following

bismark 6343 0.1 0.6 290320 18800 ?Sl 11:11 0:02 Thunar --daemon
bismark 8837 0.0 0.1 115796 3972 ?S11:19 0:00
evince-thumbnailer -s 128 /home/bismark/Desktop/temp/security_checks.pdf
/tmp/.thunar-vfs-thumbnail.GXGZ5T

Killing the evince-thumbnailer process allows Thunar to finish closing.

It seems that the thumbnailer is still in the process of trying to
create a thumbnail of the pdf's in the directory and does not properly
response to Thunar's signal to close.

Total pdf's in the directory 6, largest size 1.2M.
