[Bug 1396684] [NEW] synaptic driver hinders wake from sleep
Public bug reported: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 1.6.2-1ubuntu1~precise2: amd64, stops my Dell Studio XPS 1645 (Late 2009) to wake up from sleep. The screen stays black, but the computer starts, I can wake the screen if I connect an external monitor. Of course I first thought the problem was the graphics driver. But I got the same problem in Windows 8.1 when I installed the latest Synaptics driver (which is not signed, perhaps for this reason?). And the problem disapeared when I uninstalled that driver. So I tried the same in my Linux Mint 13 installation, downgraded xserver-xorg-input-synaptics to 1.5.99.902-0ubuntu5, and the problem was history. I was not able to report it using ubuntu-bug since it is not an official LinuxMint package. So I'm not sure what to do. But I report it anyway, so everyone else with this problem can find my workaround. [Bug 1027694] Re: Numlock setting not preserved by grub
I run Linux Mint 16 and Windows 7 and experience the same issue. In Mint I found a workaround by using numlockx in mdm, the same could be done for Lightgdm, but for Windows I haven't found a solution yet. http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=108658&start=20 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1027694 Title: Numlock setting not preserved by grub To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/grub/+bug/1027694/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1247388] Re: Mouse cursor disapear / mouse stops working, when switching user
Should of course be: sudo modprobe -r psmouse sudo modprobe pmouse and I did select package: I don't know, but it still says gdm ** Description changed: - I have upgraded to Ubuntu 13.10 Gnome3 amd64, from Ubuntu 13.04 x86 where I used both Unity, KDE and Gnome. + I have upgraded to Ubuntu 13.10 Gnome3 amd64, from Ubuntu 13.04 x86 where I used both Unity, KDE and Gnome, and in the old setup it worked fine. Now when I select switch user , I come out to the login screen and the mouse cursor is gone. Switching back to the first user the mouse is back. If the second user with no cursor runs: sudo modprobe -r psmouse - sudo modprobe -r pmouse + sudo modprobe pmouse the mouse works again, but then it stops working for the first user. + + It could alse be that the cursor is still ther but it doesn't move.
