[Bug 155064] buffer io error on live cd
Public bug reported: upon booting the Gutsy live cd, after choosing to start from the live cd, the ubuntu logo and the scroll bar indicating that ubuntu is about to start, appears. However, after some minutes, the screen changes to a black screen, and several error messages about an buffer i/o error on sr0, appears. This is followed by some squashfs-errors. This is an issue in the gutsy live cd, earlier versions don't have this problem. I took a screen shot using my cell's camera, which you can find on the following address: http://bildr.no/view/114003 ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- buffer io error on live cd https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/155064 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 34902] Re: Ralink Wireless legacy drivers (rt2500 rt61 rt73 rt2570) USB/PCMCIA/PCI hangs PC
Confirmed. I use CNet Wireless-G PCI 54 Mbps 802.11g, WPA/AES/WPA2 which is rt2500 based. Networks are detected in network-manager, and I am able to connect to non-encrypted networks. However, connecting to encrypted networks freezes the computer totally (hard reboot is the only option, ctrl+alt+backspace does nothing). Seems not to be a network-manager bug, this also happens when using the old method of connecting to the network, using network in the system-administration menu. a sudo ifup wlan0 freezes the computer in the same manner. -- Ralink Wireless legacy drivers (rt2500 rt61 rt73 rt2570) USB/PCMCIA/PCI hangs PC https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/34902 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 54976] Offer ndiswrapper + windows driver installation
Public bug reported: Currently, I have to use ndiswrapper on dapper to get an Internet connection with my INPROCOMM IPN2220 wireless card. It would be nice if ubiquity would offer to install ndiswrapper along with the windows driver (asking th user for the path to the driver) if a wireless card is detected, but no native driver is available. Also, take a look at ndisgtk, which provides a graphical frontend for ndiswrapper. It is written in python, so integration with ubiquity shouldn't be a tremendous problem ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Offer ndiswrapper + windows driver installation https://launchpad.net/bugs/54976 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
