[Bug 304439] [NEW] can't get 1360x768 resolution to work right on laptop

2008-12-02 Thread Bo90
Public bug reported:

I'm trying to connect my laptop to an external monitor / hdtv via vga cable.
When I change the resolution on the computer to 1360x768 it appears to me that
it really is using 1280x768 instead. So that results in the hole screen not
being used and the image is a bit blurry.

What could cause this problem?

I'm using ubuntu 8.10.

Can confirm that changing the XVideo adaptor number to 1 in VLC works!
Overlay works fine in VLC with compiz enabled.

[Bug 193667] Re: bad performaces on intel x3100

2008-03-07 Thread Bo90
I have the same problem. I can't watch videos on my laptop because of this.
Video performance is really bad.

I'm currently running hardy with the latest updates, I thought that the
update xserver-xorg-video-intel (2:2.2.0.90-2ubuntu7) would solve my
problem, but it didn't.

I also tried adding
Option MigrationHeuristic greedy

That removed the window glitches when running compiz, but it didn't
solve the video performance issue.

any ideas?
