[Bug 1937296] Re: Kernel Hang During "Loading initial ramdisk..."
On a personal note, I'm unable to be productive at work because I can no longer find a kernel that will boot with networking in a non-line environment. Never had this happen with the Debian installation I have on System76 (but not-Serval) hardware I have at home. 5.11.0-7620-generic never booted. 5.11.0-7633-generic never booted. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1937296 Title: Kernel Hang During "Loading initial ramdisk..." [Bug 1937296] Re: Kernel Hang During "Loading initial ramdisk..."
5.11.0-7614-generic was updated last week, and no longer boots. 5.13.0-7614-generic had never booted. 5.8.0-43-generic boots, but comes up without audio devices or network devices (neither wired nor wireless). This is particularly weird since the Ubuntu Live environment I'm writing this update from is using 5.8.0-43, and has both audio and networking working fine. 5.4.0-84-generic boots, but comes up without audio devices or network devices. I still need to try 5.4.0-26, but I'm not hopeful. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1937296 Title: Kernel Hang During "Loading initial ramdisk..." [Bug 944742] Re: missing ghc-7.0.4 in precise i386
Also affects x86_64. haskell-platform (and a great many libghc-* packages) are currently uninstallable in precise. Main problem is the two dependencies: ghc (= 7.0.4), ghc ( 7.0.4+). Based on how the haskell-platform is defined http://code.haskell.org/haskell-platform/haskell- platform.cabal this seems correct, but no version of ghc in precise (or oneiric+precise) can simultaneously satisfy those deps. I'm not sure if the tested-with is supposed to be a mandatory restriction or not, but the package version restrictions for all the libraries (including stuff like base) is supposed to be mandatory. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/944742 Title: missing ghc-7.0.4 in precise i386 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/haskell-platform/+bug/944742/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 136844] Re: FretsOnFire.py crashed with ArgumentError in SetViewport()
This has been patched upstream and the fix is in the most recent tarball (1.2.512). This bug will also hit debian and there are a couple of similar bugs (427115, 446713) but none in exactly the right place, I'm hoping a refresh from upstream would fix those debian bugs as well. So, I pulled down the sid package (there don't appear to be any Ubuntu patches), used the debian/rules target to pull down the upstream tarball and remove all the non-dfsg free parts. I dropped one debian patch that intended to fix this problem (but didn't, of course) that has been fixed and integrated upstream. I've build an amd64 binary package that my roommate on Gutsy has installed, and I've attached the source plus signed changes here. Attached tarball includes, dsfg-free orig.tar.gz, .diff.gz, .dsc, and source.changes. ** Attachment added: DSFG-free version 1.2.512 http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10838234/fretsonfire_1.2.512.dfsg.tar.gz -- FretsOnFire.py crashed with ArgumentError in SetViewport() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/136844 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 123188] Re: [ipw3945] wpasupplicant gusty takes a long time to associate
Tribe 5 seems to have fixed the issue. Now, the wireless either completely works or completely doesn't. When it does not work, it is simply a problem with the ipw3945 daemon not being started. This only occurs when I boot into a -386 kernel image, as I don't have a -386 ipw3945 daemon. The -generic daemon has worked for me on a -386 kernel image. [Bug 123188] Re: wpasupplicant gusty can't connect
When KNetworkManager is trying to connect, I see the wpa_supplicant command-line from in the ps auwx display, but entering my password and/or manually choosing my network parameters doesn't work. I'm simply asked for my password over and over. Connecting to unencrypted or WEP networks is still a little flaky when coming back from suspension or hibernation, but after a fresh reboot they are fine. To get a little more information I tried stopping KNetworkManager entirely, and then starting the wpa_supplicant using the command-line gleaned from ps auwx. It starts up, gives no troublesome diagnostics, and remains attached to the terminal. Then, in a second terminal, I try using wpa_cli, but something is wrong, or I can't figure out the command-line parameters to use, because everything I've tried just results in a cannot connect to wpa_supplicant error from wpa_cli. -- wpasupplicant gusty can't connect https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/123188 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Good catch. I traveled a little this weekend and had trouble with multiple networks from ranging from completely open to wpa even on old wpasupplicant, especially after coming back from hibernation. While I can't test on any of those networks, I'll try and nail down what's happening at home better. I thinking it might actually be caused by the ipw3945 driver or the actual hardware underneath since it affected so many networks this weekend, but that's just speculation at this point.
