[Bug 488566] [NEW] No editing tools in F-Spot View window
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: f-spot If you open an individual image file in F-Spot (via Nautilus, or an image on your Desktop) there are none of the image editing tools available in F-Spot Viewer and no way to switch to the actual full (useful!) F-Spot window from the Viewer. ** Affects: f-spot (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- No editing tools in F-Spot View window https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/488566 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 488574] [NEW] F-Spot should be able to read/show existing ~/Photos directories w/o Import
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: f-spot Ubuntu provides, by default, a ~/Photos directory, suggesting to new users that this is a good place to put your pictures. However, F-Spot is unable to actually view this directory without importing (and attempting to duplicate, by default!) everything in it. This is especially irritating to users moving large existing photo collections into a new Ubuntu install. gthumb is able to function without importing/duplicating everything. Updated from jaunty-proposed. The queue/play buttons work now, but for some reason Muine isn't listing my entire music collection - I have a dozen Rolling Stones albums, for example, but Muine only shows me one of them. Over on the upstream bug, Bastien Nocera says, So file a bug against the applications that fail to detect the files correctly instead. Wouldn't that be Nautilus in this case, or KDE's equivilent? I'm not trying to start an arguement, I'm puzzled - this is clearly a bug. It's a regression bug, even. Yet both upstream here, the response is Not ours, go elsewhere.. They claim it's not their mime type definitions at fault. You claim it's not Nautilus. One party or another has to drop the NOTOURBUG flag, and as a user, I really don't care who does it, providing it gets accepted that yes, this is actually a bug. OTF preview used to work, after all, before Ubuntu 8.04 wrecked font preview completely. ** Changed in: shared-mime-info (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = New ** Changed in: nautilus Status: Invalid = New -- OpenType Fonts associated as ODF Template Files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/338682 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 338682] Re: OpenType Fonts associated as ODF Template Files
Does Nautilus not handle mime-type/opening issues in Gnome? This is not a problem with the current Gnome Font Viewer, as is easily proven: 1. Find an OTF font file on your system. 2. If you just double-click on it, OpenOffice attempts to open it, and fails. 2. Right-click the OTF, go Open With - Open With Other Application - Font Viewer 3. Font Viewer opens and displays the OTF preview just as it should, exactly like a TTF is shown. So I'm not sure how this bug can be Invalid against all three of the targets currently listed. It's should be valid against at least one, if not all. This bug isn't in Font Viewer, it's in Nautilus and/or whatever mime- type definitions are being used in Ubuntu 9.04. -- OpenType Fonts associated as ODF Template Files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/338682 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Sebastien - using the gst-launch-0.10 playbin command from terminal results in the video I provided above playing perfectly. Attempting to run it through Totem (either starting totem first, or just double-clicking in Nautilus) results in the unwatchably slow preformance again, UNLESS I've already tried the gst-launch-0.10 command first - then it works. Sound is screwed up, many vids play incredibly slowly - at half speed or worse - and a number simply refuse to play at all. These are video files that have worked in previous versions of Ubuntu as far back as Breezy, so I KNOW the issue is not the video files - it's that gstreamer in Hardy has found some new and creative way to suck. Most of these videos are clips either pulled off random websites or emailed by friends, so I have no idea what or who holds copyright, or what the procedure is. I am willing to post some that worked perfectly in the past but do not with Hardy´s regression in gstreamer, though. ** Affects: totem (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Gstreamer in Hardy is less capable than previous releases https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/230963 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 123308] Re: Muine sometimes hangs on startup
I get the same bug with muine in feisty - it frequently won't start the first time I try it. I wind up doing killall mono or the equivilent in Gnome's System Monitor, then trying muine again, and it almost always works the second time. Not in Edgy, for either version of the bug I reported. Haven't upgraded to Fiesty yet, but hopefully as it's fixed in Edgy it'll stay fixed in Feisty! [Bug 94026] No address bar focus in new tabs
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: epiphany-browser When using either File-New Tab or Ctrl+T to get a new tab in Epiphany 2.16.1, the cursor is not automatically focused on the new tab's address bar - you have to click with the mouse or use Ctrl+L to actually begin using the new address bar. Both Firefox 2.x and Opera 9.x automatically focus on a new tab or window's address bar; I'd argue that this is expected and helpful behaviour that Epiph should do as well. ** Affects: epiphany-browser (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- No address bar focus in new tabs https://launchpad.net/bugs/94026 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 94030] No middle-click to close on tabs
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: epiphany-browser Other tabbed browsers (ie, both FF Opera) use the middle-click button, when clicked anywhere on a tab, to close that tab. This is a fast way to manage tabs - the whole tab is available as a close button, essentially - and the middle-button-click is deliberate enough that accidental use of this feature seems fairly unlikely. ** Affects: epiphany-browser (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- No middle-click to close on tabs https://launchpad.net/bugs/94030 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 4654] Re: Nautilus Burn Audio, Photo or Data CD? popup remains in background
I went to check this one in 6.06... and discovered a possibly related bug that's even more irritating: The You have inserted a blank CD-R popup goes away on it's own after two or three seconds, without any input from the user. The blank CD-R also doesn't appear in Nautilus' Tree view. However, blank DVD-Rs still act normally, and in fact the original bug of the popup not coming up from behind certain apps appears fixed - but only for DVD-Rs. I'll file a new bug with the new CD-R behaviour and link it to this one, after I do a bit more poking around. -- Nautilus Burn Audio, Photo or Data CD? popup remains in background https://launchpad.net/bugs/4654 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
