Also in my machine patched packages solved this dual cursors but not
this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-
drivers-180/+bug/363375 like Marius wrote.

I can also confirm this with Jaunty and gf 7600gs. Also it seems to
happen only with Firefox and especially when writing in html-fields.

Wow, now it prints correctly. Thanks.

I also tried to check the differences between your pdftops and the

correct behaviour?

[Bug 357901] Re: xinerama mouse cursor on every screen

2009-05-08 Thread Bugsy
Actually I have both problems, two cursors and sometimes the mouse gets
stuck with Firefox.

Usually this happens when I'm writing somehing in a html-form (Facebook
etc.). What actually happens the mouse moves in the same screen but if I
try to click something it clicks objects in the second screen. Also the
mouse doesn't move to the secondary screen anymore. Afterwards the mouse
starts to operate normally when I move it repeatedly back and forth and
click both buttons.

[Bug 357901] Re: xinerama mouse cursor on every screen

2009-05-08 Thread Bugsy
Could be but everything was fine with 8.10. How are your screens
positioned?

I have dvi-screen as main screen and left from it is a secondary vga-
screen. Nvidia had one quirk in the drivers so that vga-screen is always
first screen. It's possible to fix this by UseDisplayDevice DFP
in xorg.conf but could my issue be related to it? Because now the
xinerama is not working properly it may somehow mix up what screen is
what and where the mouse actually is.

2009-05-07 Thread Bugsy
Ok I did sudo /etc/cups/ppd/LBP5000.ppd /home/carlo/Tivi.pdf
test.ps It did not allow me to execute the command without sudo. Then
commandline reads sudo: /etc/cups/ppd/LBP5000.ppd: command not found
and the test.ps was empty.

After this I added r+w and execute right to LBP5000.ppd and tried the
same command without sudo. Test.ps is still empty but now the
commandline reads:

From gnome toolbar I select System - Administration - Printing -
Printer configuration. After that I select the correct printer (lbp5000)
and click on Properties. In there is a Printer Options tab where I did
found the Detect Paper Size option.

Also I 'm not sure if it is a printing rights issue because the book
printed normally with the previous release of Ubuntu (8.10). Did the
troubleshoot.txt which I attached 6 messages ago contain anything
interesting? It was the same pdf-book I was trying to print (TIVI-
PROJEKTIEN JOHTAMINEN - Projektimallit ja l\xc3\xa4pivienti) then.

Actually after the Evince failed to print other programs failed to print
also. But after system restart and changing detect paper size to false
all programs printed including Evince. Evince still has an issue with
one pdf file which doesn't print at all. It's really puzzling because
every other pdf file prints normally now.

The Detect paper size is in the Printing - General Settings where for
example Page size, Color Mode, etc. can be adjusted. Also I'm talking
about system wide settings, not just settings found from Evince.

I would like to attach the pdf but it's a pdf book and the licence
doesn't allow it.

Also I disabled the detect paper size and the printer started to work

the issue seems to be solved.

[Bug 369503] [NEW] Evince and Firefox fails to print but OpenOffice prints normaly in Jaunty

2009-04-29 Thread Bugsy
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cups

I have Canon LBP5000 printer and I have installed the drivers with this
guide
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HardwareSupportComponentsPrinters/CanonPrinters/Canon_LBP_2900

Everything used to work with previous releases but now with Jaunty only
OpenOffice and Gedit seem to print normally. For example with Firefox
and Evince the system says printing task is done but my printer does
nothing.

Now after using this command cupsctl LogLevel=debug the printing
failed also according to system. It also says printer message pstocapt2
write error,32

I'm using little bit older canon driver (1.3) because newer drivers (1.6
and 1.8) seem to have dependability issues.

I have also attached cups error log.

[Bug 197762] Re: file transfer on USB disk slows down with gvfs

2008-08-18 Thread Bugsy
I can confirm that this affects also Intel G965 and P35 chipsets whit
Lacie USB2 hard-drives. Almost allways the speed is 3-6 MB/s but
sometimes it works in full speed 30 MB/s.

I've attached a screenshot where I first transferred one file to the
usb2-drive with average speed over 30 MB/s and after 15 minutes when I
tried to transfer different file to the drive the transfer speed was
only about 3 MB/s.

I think that this is a lot more worse bug than our developers think
because making backups is getting too slow.

Also the pci=routeirq did not help for me and this affects both nautilus
and cp transfer from command line.

[Bug 242598] [NEW] otem gstreamer does not render divx mpeg-4 movies correctly and the sound lags in Ubuntu 8.04

2008-06-24 Thread Bugsy
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

Once in a while some of the pixels are not updated. The frame changes
but some of the pixels remain the same. This happens like 10-20 times in
a movie. Xine backend does not have these issues.

Also when the subtitle is displayed there are some colour variations
next to the subtitles (usually bluish-colour).

Sometimes after watching a movie for a while the sound starts to lag
behind. Not mutch but it can be seen from actors lips. If I start the
Totem-player again and rewind it to the same frame where it got off-
synch then the problem goes away.

I have attached a screencapture from the corrupt frame.

2008-06-24 Thread Bugsy
The problem appears ocassionaly so I have to watch the whole movie
before I can say anything. I reported this bug also to the gnome
bugzilla and they said this:

Comment #4 from Tim-Philipp Müller (developer, points: 22)
2008-06-24 20:14 UTC [reply]

Ubuntu chose to make gst-ffmpeg link against a system-installed ffmpeg rather
than the static hand-picked ffmpeg revision included within gst-ffmpeg. We
can't support such setups, so I'll close the bug for the time being. Please
re-open if you can reproduce it with a gst-ffmpeg that uses the included ffmpeg
version. You might want to report the problem in ubuntu's launchpad though.

If you are able to make one of those problematic files available, we'll check
whether we can reproduce your issues with the internal ffmpeg.

The subtitle rendering bug looks like bug #506659 and should be fixed in
gst-plugins-base 0.10.20.

[Bug 225833] Re: Calculator doesn't paint result correctly

2008-06-16 Thread Bugsy
I can cofirm this. Did calculate 11+22+33+44+55+66+77+88+990 and the
calculator did not dispaly any results if it was not streched enought.

Heres my screenshot. I'm using nvidia and dual screen xinerama.

[Bug 225833] Re: Calculator doesn't paint result correctly

2008-06-16 Thread Bugsy
Just noticed that when I copy+pasted 11+22+33+44+55+66+77+88+99 to the
unstreched calcultor, streched it and then pressed enter, the calculator
showed 0, not 495 as it should be.

[Bug 177235] Re: slow USB 2.0 drive: it's mounted as USB 1.0, not USB 2.0!

2008-06-10 Thread Bugsy
Now I tried tranferring the files again and the speed is ten times
faster. The drive is same and I haven't even unmounted it after the last
try. This is quite annoying little bug because this happens time to time
and I know that the small filesize is not the problem because the
transferred files are 600-700 Mt.

I have attached a screenshot from the transfer.

[Bug 229107] [NEW] Gnome fullscreen window placement does not work with dual monitor setup in Ubuntu 8.04

2008-05-10 Thread Bugsy
Public bug reported:

Gnome fullscreen window placement does not work with dual monitor setup
in Ubuntu 8.04. I have vga- and dvi-monitor connected and dvi-monitor is
my main monitor. Everything worked in Ubuntu 7.10.

Now with 8.04 if I open anything that goes straight to fullscreen mode,
the new opened window starts in the main screen but jumps immediately to
the secondary vga screen. I can drag it back to the main screen but
after I close it and open it again the same thing happens. This happens
with nvidia-binary and xinerama but also with intel and Xrandr setup.

The issue might be that my secondary screen is left of main screen and
therefore virtual screens cordinates x0 y0 remains in the secondary
screen. If I change my setup in a way that my secondary screen is right
of the main screen the windows jump in the main screen. Even so the
correct behavior would be that the windows stay in there where they are
opened. If a user wants them to somewhere else then he/she can drag them
afterwards.

[Bug 87078] Re: RTL-8029: NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth1: transmit timed out

2008-03-25 Thread Bugsy
I had the same problem with Gutsy and Asrock 945G-DVI but not with the
Asus A2M-VM motherboard which has the same Realtek NIC.

POSSIBLE WORKAROUND:
For Asrock I tried everything, disabling acpi, updating BIOS and adding irqpoll
to grub. Then again I disabled ACPI HPET-table from BIOS. It did not help by
itself but when I added a bogus line (eth1 without auto eth1) to the
/etc/network/interfaces the card started to work perfectly. Only thing is
that now the computer does not shutdown correctly (it just displays 102.957386
Power down). So I have to shut it down from power button.

[Bug 159263] Gnome-screensaver does not stay on

2007-11-01 Thread Bugsy
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

I have two screens with Xinerama and Nvidia drivers. In the startup
everything works normally but later the gnome-screensaver does not stay
on as described under.

The gnome-screensaver starts normally but when the screen goes back, it
comes suddenly back to the normal state. Even tough I don't need the
screen saver. I need the energy saving mode for my screens which needs
the gnome-screensaver to mark session as idle.

If it's even possible. I would send a log from the operation but I don't
know how to take one.

[Bug 158190] Totem-xine subtitle lag

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem-xine

When the subtitle size is set to Very Large or Huge the movie lags a
little when the subtitle is displayed. With smaller subtitles the
stopping cannot be seen.

[Bug 53539] Re: xine crashes when seeking fast in AVI video with windows-1250 encoding subtitles

2007-10-28 Thread Bugsy
I have the same problem still with Totem-Xine in Ubuntu 7.04 and 7.10.
If the subtitles are enabled and the video is playing then the Totem
becomes unresponsive or crashes. Stopping the video before seeking
avoids this problem.

[Bug 126785] gthumb can't load cameradriver from kernel

2007-07-18 Thread Bugsy
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gthumb

At first gthumb worked when I plugged my camera and imported pictures
but then I selected do this everytime when connected. Now gThumb
starts import pohotos window but reports an error An error occurred
in the io-library ('Unspecified error'): Could not query kernel driver
of device. and the system doesn't even see the camera.

If I disable automaticly bring pictures when connected from
System-Settings-Removable media-Cameras, then the camera works and I
can start gThumb manually and import pictures.

Is there anyway to unselect the do this everytime when connected so
that gThumb just asks do you want to import pictures and not start
import photos window automaticly.
