2009-01-20 Thread Cássio Freitas
This bug can be solved adding this parameter when execute a Java
program: -Dsun.java2d.pmoffscreen=false

Example:
java -jar -Dsun.java2d.pmoffscreen=false jar executable

This is a improvised solution. The bug cannot be closed yeat.

This issue was related too in Netbeans forum:

'momchilk' said there:

Hi there!

I have the same problem. Spending few days researching the problem I can state
that:
1. The problem is related with Xorg 7.4. If you use earlier version -
everything is OK
2. The problem is related to intel graphic cards (probably intel driver) and
not SIS and NVidia (those types I have). With Xorg 7.4 and some other card - no
problem.
3. The problem is related to Java applications that use SWING. Eclipse does not
this bug because it uses GTK to draw the interface
4. Does not matter which Java version you use - 1.4.x, 1.5.x, 1.6.x - same
(d)effect

If someone of the developers needs more information - let me know I'll
provide whatever I can.

Currently I'm forced to use Eclipse for PHP and Java development I do
which is a big pain in the ass for me. Hope there will be a solution
soon!

edit few minutes later
Huge Thanks to Jan Chalupa!!! Adding folowing line:
Code:
Option AccelMethod XAA

in Screen section of xorg.conf definitely solved the problem in NetBeans and in
ZendStudio. Looks like this really is a Intel's driver problem.

In Gnome with Compiz I have a similar problem. Try to disable the
desktops effects. It's work for me in render problems, but do not solve
the performance bug found in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/262758.

[Bug 252094] Re: Poor graphics performance and rendering errors on Intel GM965 system, Ubuntu 8.10

2008-11-28 Thread Cássio Freitas
I have a poor 3D performance and problems with rendering when using
Compiz:

GLGears with Compiz and render problems:
1680 frames in 5.0 seconds = 335.990 FPS
1704 frames in 5.0 seconds = 340.622 FPS
1699 frames in 5.0 seconds = 339.754 FPS
1705 frames in 5.0 seconds = 340.839 FPS
1681 frames in 5.0 seconds = 336.142 FPS

GLGears without Compiz do not have render problems, but the performance
still poor.

[Bug 299867] [NEW] text box with many lines don't clean on redraw in java application

2008-11-19 Thread Cássio Freitas

In java applications with many lines (3000 lines for example) have a
problem on drawing. If scroll up and down, the component don't clean
before draw, corrupting your content. This problem is found only in
Ubuntu 8.10 Interprid. In other old versions works nice. Not a driver
problem. Test in various different hardwares.
