[Bug 612443] Re: [ZTE MF626] Connection drops everytime it switches between 3G and 2G
** Summary changed: - [ZTE MF626] 3G connection drops everytime it switches between 3G and 2G + [ZTE MF626] Connection drops everytime it switches between 3G and 2G ** Description changed: Binary package hint: network-manager - Network-Manager drops the connection whenever the modem tries to switch the modes between 2G and 3G. + Network-Manager drops the connection whenever the modem (ZTE MF626) tries to switch the modes between 2G and 3G. After the connection is dropped I cannot "dial" the connection again (because it disappears from the network-manager and stops responding) then it's necessary to unplug/plug the device so it can be recognized. Looking at the /var/log/messages, I got the following output: Aug 2 01:04:09 tifa pppd[3123]: Modem hangup Aug 2 01:04:09 tifa pppd[3123]: Connect time 52.5 minutes. [Bug 380350] [NEW] Kubuntu 64-bit doesn't install with custom partitioning
Public bug reported: I tried to install Kubuntu 64-bits on my computer but I have two HDDs and I wanted to install it on the logical partitions of my secondary HDD. After choosing the appropriate partitioning settings, the installer refuses to continue the installation and displays an error (see the attached screenshots) "Error informing the kernel about modifications to partition /dev/sdb5 -- Device or resource busy. This means Linux won't know about any changes you made to /dev/sdb5 until you reboot -- so you shouldn't mount it or use it in any way before rebooting." and then you can Cancel or Ignore it, if I choose to ignore, another error pops up with the following message "The attempt to mount a file system with type swap in SCSI3 (0,1,0), partition #5 (sdb) at none failed. You may resume partitioning from the partitioning menu", then I can't continue the installation from this point. PS: It's hard to explain the details in english because my natural language is portuguese, if I wasn't clear enough with my words please tell me. ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: 64-bits installer kubuntu ubiquity -- Kubuntu 64-bit doesn't install with custom partitioning https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/380350 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 337590] [NEW] [HD Audio] Two devices using the same module
Public bug reported: Hi everybody, I'm running the latest Ubuntu Jaunty (alpha-5) and I have two HD Audio devices on my PC, a VIA VT1708/A HD Audio and a ATI HDMI Audio (from my ATI Radeon HD4650 card). Well, sometimes when I boot up the machine, the system sets the VIA card as the default output and everything goes fine (because I want this card to be the default) and sometimes I got the ATI as the default and everything goes wrong until I change on "System -> Settings -> Sound" and set the VIA as the default. I was looking for a way to disable the ATI HDMI device but when I did the 'lspci -v' command, I got the following output: 02:00.1 Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc R700 Audio Device [Radeon HD 4000 Series] Subsystem: Hightech Information System Ltd. Device aa38 Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 25 Memory at fbdec000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K] Capabilities: Kernel driver in use: HDA Intel Kernel modules: snd-hda-intel 04:01.0 Audio device: VIA Technologies, Inc. [Bug 325431] Re: [HD 4650] Weird Colors when changing resolution
Oops, I think I found another bug. When I set the resolution of 640x480 and then set back the 1024x768, the gnome menus won't come back to their place. The only way I could find to get the menus back to their right position is setting the higher resolution available (1360x768 here) and then setting back to 1024x768. I'm attaching a screenshot to show you a sample. Should I report it as another bug? ** Attachment added: "image2.png" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/23099591/image2.png ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- [HD 4650] Weird Colors when changing resolution https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/325431 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 325431] Re: [HD 4650] Weird Colors when changing resolution
This bug doesn't happen anymore in Jaunty, but it doesn't detect correctly my monitor and (sometimes) I cannot change my refresh rate, it's locked to 60Hz. I'm saying 'Sometimes' because if I reboot the system a couple of times, it will remain "Unknown" but then it'll let me set the refresh rate up to 85Hz. I'm including the new Xorg.0.log just because it may be helpful to trace another bug. ** Attachment added: "Xorg.0.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/23099204/Xorg.0.log -- [HD 4650] Weird Colors when changing resolution https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/325431 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 325431] Re: [HD 4650] Weird Colors when changing resolution
Ok, btw I need a few days to download this file and to test due to my slow internet connection (128k). ** Description changed: Hi there, I'm running ubuntu on my PC which has an AMD/ATI Radeon HD4650 as the video card but I cannot change the resolution of my screen with the standard driver. When the system boots for the first time, it automatically sets the resolution to 1280x1024 but I'm used to 1024x768, then when I set this config the display colors became wrong, like 8 colors or less. The only way I can get the system to work on 16/24bit color depth again is changing the resolution back to 1280x1024 and restarting the X server. Also I have tried the `fglrx` driver which seems to work fine. - I'm running out of time so I didn't touched the xorg.conf file to check if there's a way to get the 1024x1024 resolution on the default driver, maybe with another vertical/horizontal refresh rates it should work. + I'm running out of time so I didn't touched the xorg.conf file to check if there's a way to get the 1024x768 resolution on the default driver, maybe with another vertical/horizontal refresh rates it should work.
