[Bug 1842320] Re: Out of Memory on boot with 5.2.0 kernel
I have this issue on my Dell XPS 9380. I can boot 5.13.0.35, but 0.37 and 0.39 simply show the error: out of memory. I have tried changing my GFXMODE to 800x600x24, which hwinfo lists as a supported resolution, but grub just ignores it? Same with timeout? It just shows in the 4K native res every time, almost as if it's taunting me. Eventually the 0.35 kernel will be deleted by a system update, and my system will be bricked. I guess I'm going to need to reinstall, aren't I? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1842320 Title: Out of Memory on boot with 5.2.0 kernel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1842320/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1938013] Re: 4.15.0-151 is freezing various Intel machines (i5-3gen, i5-5gen reported)
I'm seeing similar behavior after updating to 4.15.0-151, with multiple crashes and hangs. My CPU is a i7-6600U. [Bug 1806472] Re: RTL8822BE WiFi Disabled in Kernel 4.18.0-12
So, the driver was previously unsigned, then signed and included in the original Ubuntu kernel for 18.10, then subsequently unsigned during an update somewhere along the way? That doesn't make sense to me - would have to try and find upstream to work out what has happened. Larry Finger suggests that Realtek has rewritten the driver and his GitHub repo is only for older kernels that do not already ship the r8822be driver. 4.21 is quoted as when this new driver will drop. https://github.com/lwfinger/rtlwifi_new/issues/408#issuecomment-426299298 ** Bug watch added: github.com/lwfinger/rtlwifi_new/issues #408 https://github.com/lwfinger/rtlwifi_new/issues/408 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1806472 Title: RTL8822BE WiFi Disabled in Kernel 4.18.0-12 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1806472/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1801537] [NEW] Mouse input lag and stuttering audio USB ('irq 18: nobody cared')
Public bug reported: With both the latest lowlatency kernel on 18.10 (4.18.0-10) and previously with 4.15 on 18.04 the system is barely usable due to input lag from the mouse and stuttering audio. This only starts a minute or two after startup. Despite this graphics performance seems unaffected and the CPU usage isn't abnormal. Both my mouse and audio device are USB devices, and the dmesg log shows problems with the irq I think is associated with the USB controller. This issue does not exist in any mainline kernel I've tried - 4.16.0-041600-lowlatency, 4.18.0-041800-lowlatency, 4.19.0-041900-lowlatency. This suggests the issue is specific to the Ubuntu kernel. I also have bumblebee installed however I understand that on this machine the mini display port runs from the intel chip so this should not be impacting this issue. I include this information incase it might. I am more that happy to run any diagnostics required to help resolve this issue. Many thanks in advance for your help! Interesting, so we both definitely have the same card and are affected by the same issue. What do you get when you run the firmware-b43-installer? Does the terminal output anything about an unsupported device with the PCI ID tag? Odd that rc8 of 3.9 seemed to fix this and then the final 3.9 kernel (which I'm sure is virtually the same?) seemed to fix it for you. [Bug 1142385] Re: B43 Wireless Autoconnect Failure
Here's something else interesting, if I disable wifi and re-enable it after manually connecting the connection is fine. It's as if you have to tell the card that the ESSID is what it is and then it'll connect no problems. Also curiously, apparently the wlan0 interface doesn't exist and hence, running other iwlist commands there are no settings related to it. iwlist suggests the device is there but unconfigured, iwconfig says the device doesn't exist at all, and yet it works clear as day if you manually connect (I'm typing on here right now.) http://paste.ubuntu.com/5643575/ -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1142385 Title: B43 Wireless Autoconnect Failure To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1142385/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1142385] [NEW] Hidden Wireless Autoconnect Failure
Public bug reported: Hi all, I installed raring to test whether this bug existed in it and quantal too. In the 3.8+ kernels there seems to be an issue with the b43 drivers, my wireless works however it won't automatically connect to my hidden wireless network. I have to go into network manager on each login and manually select the option to connect, it takes a while but then the connection works fine. I know this didn't exist in 3.7.x because I was using those kernels absolutely fine, it's only when I tried 3.8 on both quantal and raring that the issue arose. Note: I can't edit the wireless settings on my network as I am not the administrator in my house. Not sure on the progress on this but while toying around the other day under Wubi on my HP G62-B18SA notebook I found that by default Bluez does not support the wifi card entirely, however, Blueman does. [Bug 968120] [NEW] Pressing alt clears text selection
Public bug reported: I reported this bug some time ago on a previous Ubuntu version and it was marked as invalid, but it definitely still exists. I've tested on a Guest session, and the bug exists there. I don't know if the bug is Revelation wide, or specific to Ubuntu, so I'm reporting it here first. Steps to recreate: 1) Create a new password file 2) Create a new password entry 3) Preferences > General > Passwords > "Display passwords and other secrets" check 4) Double / triple click password to select text 5) Press the alt key At this point, the text selection disappears and the cursor is flashing at the start of the password. The typical workflow for me is select password, alt-tab back to application, middle click to paste password. This bug breaks this workflow because pressing alt clears the text selection. ** Affects: revelation (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/968120 Title: Pressing alt clears text selection To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/revelation/+bug/968120/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
