[Bug 946894] [NEW] BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at 00000004

2012-03-04 Thread Captain_Glen
Public bug reported:

I was attempting to repair a corrupted usb drive with disk utility.

It got corrupted by pulling it out after clicking shutdown on a ubuntu
PC (possibly a sperate bug?)

I had disk utility open and clicked safely remove. Then I pulled the
usb out and plugged it in a couple of times. The screen went black with
a bunch of writting on it for a second and then back to Ubuntu with a
message that an error had occured.

[Bug 768727] [NEW] Brother HL 2040 prints infinite blank pages

2011-04-21 Thread Captain_Glen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cups

I have a Brother HL 2040 Printer. It normally lives plugged into my dd-
wrt router as a print server. It worked fine with Ubuntu 10.10.
Recently I have been testing 11.04.

As soon as I upgraded it stopped working. Now when I go to print
something it just spits out blank pages, until it runs out of pages or I
turn it off.

I can still print fine from my ubuntu 10.10 netbook.

I have tried plugging the printer in via USB to see if there was a
problem with the print server. It still spits out blank pages. So I
think it must be a regression in the printer driver in 11.04.

I also have a HP CP1215, which also lives plugged into to my dd-wrt
router. This works just fine with 11.04. So it is only some printers
that have the problem.

3. I expected my document to print.

4. My printer vomited blank pages.

[Bug 493122] [NEW] BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at 00000002

2009-12-06 Thread Captain_Glen
Public bug reported:

I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.10 off the alternate CD. Then I
installed the nouveau drivers with sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-
video-nouveau. Then I modified the xorg.conf to something very
complicated trying to get dual head but not really knowing what I was
doing. Then I rebooted. My comptuer could not start the xserver and
just took me to the terminal log on screen. But the screen was flashing
and I could not enter my username or password. I had to boot to the
recovery shell and edit the xorg.conf to something more simple to get it
to boot the xserver. When I finally fixed. It had a red icon saying
the kernel had recovered from a major problem.

[Bug 493121] [NEW] BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at 00000002

2009-12-01 Thread Captain_Glen
It is working now. I didn't change anything. But it is working. You can
close the bug.

Looks like your computer was not connected to the internet, or for some
reason the server couldn't be reached. Have you tried again to use the
 service?
