Thinking about this.

Ubuntu used to translate programs in Edubuntu itself, and didn't give
the translations back to tuxpaint itself.

Ubuntu has stopped translating Edubuntu programs- so are you using
tuxpaint's fr translation?

If Ubuntu will give tuxpaint its translations we will merge them but
we are short staffed. Can you provide patches?

Thanks

[Bug 433691] [NEW] Nautilus stuck failing to display SVG files, busy cursor

the text files. The SVG files are not displaying and the cursor is busy.

[Bug 428605] [NEW] [karmic] CUPS crashes on boot, assertation failure.

2009-09-12 Thread Caroline Ford
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cups

Just upgraded from jaunty to karmic. When I first booted I get an apport
! in the notification bar.

It says:

Problem in cups
The problem cannot be reported

The program crashed on an assertion failure, but the message could not
be retrieved. Apport does not support reporting these crashes.

Loaded vista which also has a low refresh rate when I looked at the
figures. 59 was what it was set at and was useable. 60 was horrible -
bright and headache inducing. Don't understand really..

I was assigned as that was part of the process for getting the package
in REVU. However it just sat there so there's been no other movement
from my end.

I'm glad you've packaged for karmic. Is the packaging someone is
working on for Debian - or is it the old sidux one I was using?

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that

[Bug 402706] [NEW] X crashes when I run tuxmath

2009-07-21 Thread Caroline Ford
Public bug reported:

I am another newbie to Ubuntu, so any help would be appreciated. I've
have had Ubuntu 8.10 up and running since 3/6/09. Three days ago, out
of the blue, when attempting to open TuxMath, the screen briefly goes
black, closes all open applications, and then displays the login screen.
I have the system setup up to automatically log in at boot and just
enter the passwords for admin and network privledges. After the login
screen comes up, I leave it blank and hit enter, and it brings up the
normal desktop, as if it were a fresh boot. No applications are open
and my network connection get reestablished.

I upgraded to OpenOffice 3.0 about a week before this issue started, and
TuxMath was working fine. I have made no changes, other than
recommended updates, at the time the issue started. I have tried
removing TuxMath and reloading it several times and the issue is still
present.

My son loves this app since it's much more fun than his school's flash
cards. Any suggestions?

[Bug 402706] Re: X crashes when I run tuxmath

I think this is a bug in X Windows rather than tuxmath as what you've
described happens when X crashes (it goes back to the login screen). I
presume the machine doesn't reboot.

I've added xorg to the bug - they will need to get information from you

2009-07-05 Thread Caroline Ford
I've sent it upstream but we need to work out how to get info we can
work with. I think we need to ask you to re-enable apport. The segfault
message itself doesn't tell us very much.

If you look at : https://wiki.kubuntu.org/Apport#Per-
package%2520Apport%2520Hooks

Could you try:

sudo force_start=1 /etc/init.d/apport restart
and then run tuxpaint

It should then give us a crashlog. It'll probably submit it as a new
bug. I should find out about this anyway as I subscribe to all tuxpaint
bugs, but could you say which number it is anyway?

Mouse Pointer checkbox. In the Printing tab, I unchecked the allow
 printing checkbox.

I just tried full-screen mode for tuxpaint, and the screen froze. I
 had
 to do a hard reboot.

I think this is related to the screen resolution either on my
 laptop, or
the Virtualbox VM, but I am not sure. I have virtualbox guest
 additions
installed on the ubuntu VM. When I use full screen mode for the VM,
 the
screen is plenty wide. That is no problem.

How do I check if tuxpaint supports widescreen displays?

Could someone explain what the problem is now - preferably with a

Upstream say:

Can you clarify what this means---in the math, in the menus, where? Does it
mean the characters are rendered in reverse order (i.e., like redro esrever)
or does it mean something else?

My guess was that the thing still read left-to-right so that the
translation of score was to the left of the number, when presumably they
should be on the right.

[Bug 389136] [NEW] create-resources claims to work with audacity but just graphics files

2009-06-18 Thread Caroline Ford
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: create-resources

Create resources says in its description: The Create Project provides shared
resources for use by creative
applications such as Blender, CinePaint, the GIMP, Inkscape, Scribus, Audacity
and the Open Clip Art Library.

It actually only includes resources for use with graphics programs. It
consists of brushes, gradients, patterns and swatches. None of this is
any use to someone using audacity. It is also hard to see how the open
clip art library is an application.

I think this is a bit like keyword spamming. I don't know if it is any
use for blender and cinepaint. Mostly it seems to be gimp brushes. Can
inkscape and scribus use any of this?

I think as a minimum audacity needs to be removed from the description.
I think ideally we should check to see if all the listed programs can
use this content too. Otherwise this package is just promoting itself
when people search for audacity etc.

[Bug 289425] Re: TuxPaint 0.9.17 does not print, and instead saves the painting

2009-06-13 Thread Caroline Ford
Upstream say:

Can you run Tux paint in English to confirm whether the dialog that appears
is talking about the picture having been saved, and not printed? (i.e., is
that issue just a matter of the NL translation being incorrect at the time.
Checking CVS, 0.9.17's nl.po file seems to show the string as: Je
tekening is afgedrukt!)

Can you try a more recent version of Tux Paint to see if the actual
printing issue still occurs? (0.9.20 is in Ubuntu 8.10, so I'd like to
avoid supporting 0.9.17 if I don't have to :) )

[Bug 230368] Re: tulip crashes on startup

2009-05-24 Thread Caroline Ford
This was autosynced from Debian which doesn't seem to have this problem.
I suspect this is an issue with different versions of dependent
libraries.

Karmic has the later version but that has failed to build. (Bug
#379986).

Is everyone running this under Ubuntu, or Kubuntu? If Ubuntu, does it
work okay if run under Kubuntu?

[Bug 230368] Re: tulip crashes on startup

2009-05-24 Thread Caroline Ford
I'm wondering if this bug is Debian bug 479327 ?

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=479327

It's fixed in the karmic version, but that doesn't build. Get the karmic
version building, test then backport?

[Bug 379986] Re: tulip FTBFS in karmic

2009-05-24 Thread Caroline Ford
Wondering if this is connected to the qt3-qt4 transition.

The previously packaged version tulip-3.0.0 uses qt3 compatibility
libraries. From version 3.0.1 tulip works with qt4.

[Bug 377771] [NEW] lincity-ng segfaults under jaunty netbook remix

2009-05-17 Thread Caroline Ford
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: lincity-ng

Lincity-ng segfaults when run on an msi wind clone running jaunty
netbook remix.

After you click on the tick on the menu to start a game it closes. Run
from a terminal you get a line about the screen size (which it thinks is
1024x768) and then Segmentation fault.

Problem with netbook resolutions?

[Bug 334576] Re: filenames with wihte spaces are not supported by tuxpaint-import script

2009-02-25 Thread Caroline Ford
I'm not exactly sure what you are saying here. What has grep got to do
with it? Why are you trying to import tuxpaint.conf?

Could you give me a simple example? I don't have access to an Ubuntu
machine at the moment to try and see what you are doing.

What happens when you try and import my picture.png (and it exists)?

Can you give me the full error message?
