[Bug 836250] Re: [Oneiric] [Regression] Intel Corporation Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 poor networking, packet loss and very slow Lenovo X201 and T500 laptops
I can confirm that Fedora 16 since the 3.3 kernels also affect this bug. I switched to Fedora because it seemed to be uneffected. I am working on a Lenovo X220. [Bug 73414] Re: notification area plugin is not working
some more information, I think there are actually two bugs. Bug 1 - the notification area plugin is not working Checkbox: Enabling and disabling the checkbox by clicking on it (the checkbox) does switch the checkbox state but does not load the plugin nor gives any output. Bug 2 - something in the plugin loading/unloading mechanism is wrong Crash: I can't reproduce the crash anymore, yesterday I could reproduce it every time by double clicking on the plugin (another way of (de)selecting the checkbox). Also I would like to know how I can get the stacktrace for next time. I don't have any output in my terminal and I can't successfully start xchat-gnome through gdb (just did file and start). Error message: Double clicking wasn't really the problem. Just loading and unloading the plugin twice (load-ok-unload-ok-load-ok-unload-error) give me the error (this is also where it previously crashed). I discovered all the plugins give me this error but the others do (un)load though. Closing the settings window and starting it again let me (un)load all the plugins again, two times again. - Plugin Unload Failed An error occurred unloading /usr/lib/xchat-gnome/plugins/x.so I do have my settings(xchat+gnome directory) migrated from a dapper box but I don't think this is the problem. -- notification area plugin is not working https://launchpad.net/bugs/73414 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 73057] Re: kernel 2.6.19-6 does not boot
Same problem here (AMD64, 2.6.19-6-generic and 2.6.19-5-generic kernel), It does load some parts of the kernel but it never reaches the point of mounting the root disk (XFS partition). nosplash and recovery also won't boot. I did a upgrade from a fresh edgy and my 2.6.17-10-generic boots fine. -- kernel 2.6.19-6 does not boot https://launchpad.net/bugs/73057 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 73414] notification area plugin is not working
Public bug reported: edit-preferences-scripts and plugins-Notification is not working. Double clicking on the plugin gives the error: An error occurred unloading /usr/lib/xchat-gnome/plugins/notification.so and crashes xchat-gnome with no ouput. ** Affects: xchat-gnome (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- notification area plugin is not working https://launchpad.net/bugs/73414 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 73057] Re: kernel 2.6.19-6 does not boot
in my menu.lst is no enabled kopt_2_6 line and update-initramfs -u only updates the initramfs of 2.6.19-5-generic. Booting 2.6.19-5-generic now gives a new result and ends up in busybox while 2.6.19-6-generic still refuses to continue to load. ** Attachment added: menu.lst file http://librarian.launchpad.net/5176795/menu.lst -- kernel 2.6.19-6 does not boot https://launchpad.net/bugs/73057 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 73057] Re: kernel 2.6.19-6 does not boot
Deleted the line and run the update-initramfs command. Kernel still won't boot. When trying restore mode, the kernel does load, last part it loads is the usb core. It does reacts on events like adding/removing USB devices, but it does not get to the point of a shell. -- kernel 2.6.19-6 does not boot https://launchpad.net/bugs/73057 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 73057] Re: kernel 2.6.19-6 does not boot
Problem solved thanks to Ben Collins, roundup to fix this problem: - remove the '# kopt_2_6=root=/dev/hdaX ro' line from your menu.lst - $ sudo update-initramfs -u -k 2.6.19-6-generic - $ sudo grub-update - reboot -- kernel 2.6.19-6 does not boot https://launchpad.net/bugs/73057 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
