Re: [Bug 1726180] Re: Unable to upgrade to artful with nvidia-libopencl1-304 and virt-viewer installed
The summary to this is incorrect or incomplete. The issue for me was that gstreamer was failing the upgrade. Once I purged that from the system it was able to do-release-upgrade. [Bug 547091] Re: 10.04 beta 1 mountall fails to mount iSCSI volume at boot
The issue is that the mountall command processes all entries in /etc/fstab, including -netdev. If the only requirement is for the network to be up, such as NFS or CIFS then it works correctly. But for iscsi the device is "remote" but requires that open-iscsi init.d script be run first. Thus the mountall fails because the hard device doesn't exist yet. The work around that I'm currently using is to set all the iscsi devices in /etc/fstab to "noauto". Then the open-iscsi start script is modified so the "mount -a -O _netdev" command is replaced with "mount /mount_point" We can't use the -a option because the noauto causes -a to fail. We can't use _netdev because the mountall fails. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/547091 Title: 10.04 beta 1 mountall fails to mount iSCSI volume at boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/open-iscsi/+bug/547091/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1411392] [NEW] Update quicksynergy to optionally use SSH tunnel
Public bug reported: Quicksynergy accepted a patch for transparent SSH tunnel activated by a checkbox on the client page: https://github.com/cesarbs/quicksynergy- gtk/commit/7dd1536 The patch has also been written for the version of quicksynergy used in Ubuntu (attached). I have applied this patch between 100_oldconfig_transition.diff and appindicators.diff, and successfully built a dpkg. I've used the package and its new feature daily for nearly a year without problem. This may not be high priority, since synergy itself now offers some level of encryption, but quicksynergy does not use these features. If its interface is simple enough to be of value, then we should offer users some security. ** Affects: quicksynergy (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Patch added: socks_tunnel.diff https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1411392/+attachment/4299489/+files/socks_tunnel.diff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1411392 Title: Update quicksynergy to optionally use SSH tunnel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/quicksynergy/+bug/1411392/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 821439] Re: memory leak in mumble client
I think I have this same bug, but way worse than how it's described here. The actual speed of the memory increase for me is really fast. The memory usage for mumble goes up by ~1% every 10 seconds. I have 8 gigs of RAM so the actual increase is about ~800 MB over that time span. This is connected to a server with a few people talking. I've tried changing around all sorts of settings with no luck at getting it to stop yet. The only thing I've found that helps is that after I click Apply or OK on the settings page it goes back to ~1.5% memory usage and starts climbing again from there. So whatever happens after clicking those buttons is cleaning up that memory, and I can do that periodically to keep it from locking up my entire machine. If I let it keep going eventually my whole computer freezes up until mumble crashes entirely and other stuff can start working again. If anyone has any troubleshooting they'd like me to do just let me know. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/821439 Title: memory leak in mumble client To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mumble/+bug/821439/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 789560] [NEW] Weather condition icons not being displayed in bar or forecast.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: indicator-weather The weather indicator is not displaying the icons for conditions. Instead it displays a generic one that looks like a question mark inside a triangle with rounded corners, inside a speech bubble. The forecast is also missing the condition icons, instead it displays the 'missing image' indicators. Screenshots attached. I am using the Ubuntu Mono Light icon set, but I tested it with every icon set I have. When I hit refresh the icon that looks like it is for either cloudy or partly cloudy, and definitely for night because it has the quarter moon image, shows up (and it actually does pull the one for whatever icon set I've selected here) along with a temperature of 86 degrees. [Bug 772053] Re: When mouse hovers over icons in dash a series of short, vertical white bars is overlaid at the top of the icon.
I added an update to this bug though, with what happened after: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/718928 It stopped putting white bars over the icons but then started putting them at the top of the dash itself. Running compiz --replace fixed those though. So whatever the issue is appears to affect multiple drivers in a similar way, putting white bars or boxes somewhere on the screen, but it varies on where it puts them. However, the fact that compiz --replace fixes it makes me wonder if it's something from compiz that's causing it or if it's something in unity. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/772053 Title: When mouse hovers over icons in dash a series of short, vertical white bars is overlaid at the top of the icon. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I had the same issue and realized I was on the vesa driver. Now I've changed to radeon and instead of the same lines you are seeing I now see a sequence of white blocks at the top of the dash itself. [Bug 661094] Re: evolution-exchange does not work with maverick and 2.30.3-0ubuntu2~ppa1
I just started experiencing this same issue today (after months of it working just fine). I've been able to delete the ~/.evolution/exchange and ~/.evolution/mail/exchange folders and get it to then send my stuck messages and read messages that were already in my inbox, but it would not receive new ones. After restarting it is back to the Scanning for changed messages tasks. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/661094 Title: evolution-exchange does not work with maverick and 2.30.3-0ubuntu2~ppa1 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 661094] Re: evolution-exchange does not work with maverick and 2.30.3-0ubuntu2~ppa1
The cause of the problem in my case was the Tracker plugin. [Bug 34199] Re: Evolution cannot connect to Exchange backend process
I apologize if this is a stupid question, but should this be resolved for 2.28.3 without having to apply the patch? That was the understanding I got from reading the thread. However, I am on Lucid Lynx using 2.28.3 and continue to have this problem. I only recently installed Ubuntu on this laptop, so I was pretty sure it started out with 2.28, but I still deleted everything in my ~/.evolution/exchange/ and ~/.evolution/mail/exchange/ folders just in case it was created initially in the old version and needed to be cleared out to have the updated version correct the issue. Unfortunately it still continues to give this error. Before I go to the trouble of compiling the source from scratch with the patch included I wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting time by doing so. -- Evolution cannot connect to Exchange backend process https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/34199 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 67338] Update waits indefinitely for user input
Public bug reported: Updating certain non-free packages requires the user to affirmatively accept the licence terms. Update manager hangs indefinitely until the user accepts or declines the licence. When setting the upgrade to happen over night, the update did nothing most of the night because it wanted someone to click next for 8 hours. Could it timeout upgrading a package after about 30 minutes of no user input and then leave that package to be upgraded later (when the user is probably waiting around during the upgrades)? That way, the user may even choose to not use the non-free if the new version has better support for that particular need. Flash Plug-In was the offending package. ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Update waits indefinitely for user input https://launchpad.net/bugs/67338 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 67338] Re: Update waits indefinitely for user input
It was the flash-player plug-in. I forgot to write down the exact package name when it happened, but once the upgrade is finished I will find it and update the post. It was a GUI screen asking for acceptance to the licence agreement, so I suppose that was Debconf. ** Tags added: edgy flash -- Update waits indefinitely for user input https://launchpad.net/bugs/67338 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 67338] Re: Update waits indefinitely for user input
The flashplayer question came up very early in the process when the packages were just being prepared for installation. About 2 hours later, once the installation actually began, the gui prompted for replacing abcde.conf file while updating the abcde package. In this case, my abcde.conf needed to stay. But again, if I wasn't nearby, I would prefer it hold back the package and continue the update of everything else. As more packages come up, I will post to this thread (unless you tell me to open separate bugs for each package). Thanks. -- Update waits indefinitely for user input https://launchpad.net/bugs/67338 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 67338] Re: Update waits indefinitely for user input
/etc/qt3/qt_plugins_3.3rc also asks to be replaced. Not sure which package is causing the request, the GUI didn't specify. [Bug 67338] Re: Update waits indefinitely for user input
The package that caused the dialog was flashplugin-nonfree from the multiverse area. Is there a recommended non-nonfree equivalent for Edgy?
