[Bug 1913333] Re: Calc auto-filter menu inaccessible with fractional scaling enabled
Tks for looking into this so quickly. Concerning your questions: I can see the auto-filter menu but not access it - it disappears the moment I move the mouse towards it. There seems to be no difference whether the auto filter was created with or without fractional scaling. Settings -> Displays: Resolution is 3820x2160 with refresh rate 30 Hz. [Bug 1913333] [NEW] auto-filter menu inaccessible with fractional scaling enabled
Public bug reported: PROBLEM The auto-filter pull-down menu becomes inaccessible the very moment I move the mouse down to access the filter menu. This happens most of the time, but not always, when fractional scaling is not 100% on my 4K monitor. The menu remains inaccessible for all other scaling factors but 100%. FREQUENCY This happens quite often, but not always, and makes working in CALC with fractional scaling on impossible. Sometimes changing fractional scaling back to 100% and then say to 150% fixes the issue. But most of the time the only way out is to switch the screen to 100%. My bug https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gdk- pixbuf/-/issues/157#note_804913and was closed after a brief discussion. Could this be fixed in Ubuntu with a post-install script? [Bug 1874856] Re: Unwanted mouse trail
Tested again a few times: I confirm that switching to nouveau removes the mouse trail but slows down the desktop to unworkable. To clarify #6: It could be that in my first test I did not reboot, although this is quite unlikely. I could re-install the OS if you want me to try to replicate this. What is for sure is that the Driver's GUI [attached] has issues: 1) After switching to nouveau (and reboot) it does not highlight "nouveau", but points to a new menu entry, "Continue using manually installed driver". 2) Options of switching drivers are greyed out after switching to Nouveau. 3) Claims that my Wifi is not working, but it works just fine. Annother strange behaviour occurred today: The reboot after switching to Nouveau gets stuck at every boot with /dev/sda6 clean, 234123/26879978 files, 4048798/11234253 blocks Workaround is booting into recovery, then select boot from there - it boots. This problem does disappear after switching to the proprietary display driver. ** Attachment added: "DriverGUI.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1874856/+attachment/5363972/+files/DriverGUI.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1874856 Title: Unwanted mouse trail To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1874856/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1826757] Re: libreoffice in 19.04 not responding on ODT, working on ODS
Opening with LO 6.2 from the links on this page LoadingSlowly_onewordonly.odttakes 25secs with one of eight CPUs maxed out. CpPasted_Now loading FAST_LoadingSlowly_onewordonly_.odt takes 1sec After purging LO 6.2 and installing LO 6.3.0.0.alpha1 both docs load like a flash. Should I still submit a bug against LO for slow loading then? It seems my package manager is corrupt, as described in #7, and I cannot update the system any longer properly. sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade You might want to run 'apt --fix-broken install' to correct these. The following packages have unmet dependencies. libreoffice-lightproof-en : Depends: python3-uno (>= 4.0) but it is not installed Depends: libreoffice-core (>= 1:3.5~) but it is not installed libreoffice-lightproof-hu : Depends: python3-uno (>= 4.0) but it is not installed Depends: libreoffice-core (>= 1:3.5~) but it is not installed libreoffice-lightproof-ru-ru : Depends: python3-uno (>= 4.0) but it is not installed Depends: libreoffice-core (>= 1:3.5~) but it is not installed E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt --fix-broken install' with no packages (or specify a solution). BUT 'apt --fix-broken install' gets me back to LO version 6.2, which has caused all the trouble. [Bug 1826757] Re: libreoffice in 19.04 not responding on ODT, working on ODS
Tks for looking into this guys! * libreoffice does not appear in snap list * in Nautilus my right click shows "open with libreoffice writer" Note that after removing .config/libreoffice opening an ODT works just fine. The locking occurs when I close LO and try to open another ODT. Adding to the mystery, I noticed that I have several strange extensions installed "Bundled with LibreOffice" : * canzely-client 0.5.1, claims to be a German assistant for lawyers and adds a German menu to Writer * Lightproof grammar checker (magyar), points to http://fsf.hu/ * Lightproof grammar checker (Russian) * lots of LaTex extensions * Zemberek Turkish Spell Checker This is bizarre, I have never touched anything Turkish nor Russian. I cannot remove the extensions, the lock icon only offers "update". Note I have no other repositories installed apart from Canonical Partners. This is all pretty crazy. Public bug reported: On a fresh install of 19.04, in "Software & Updates" when I select "Canonical Partners" the window "Authentication Required" pops up. After typing the password the mouse freezes, and can be unfrozen with CTRL+ALT+DEL. But the "Canonical Partners" cannot be selected, check box stays empty, mouse freezes again. Even after cold restart. WORKAROUND Select "Canonical Partners Sources" instead. After authorizing I can now also select "Canonical Partners". This was impossible before. After this I can select and deselect Canonical Partner in "Software & Updates". The previous authorization window, which opened first, and when the mouse froze, stays open and cannot be closed with CANCEL or ALT+F4. [Bug 1810774] [NEW] ubuntu 18.10 installer fails for GeForce GTX 1050 when updating driver while installing
Public bug reported: 18.10 64 bit Ubuntu installer creates an unusable system that freezes within a minute, or freezes instantly upon starting any graphics intensive applications like Firefox or gnome-activities. I have a GeForce GTX 1050. How to reproduce: * Install image, while enabling updates and third party software. * Graphics freezes as described above and in https://askubuntu.com/questions/1105037/18-10-new-install-freezes-with-intel-pipe-update-end-i915-atomic-update-fail * The system freezes even in recovery mode, where the text is overwritten and garbled quickly. How to work around: * During install disable network and disable any update of drivers and software. * Upon restart the graphics will freeze again, but recovery options do work this time. * Plug in LAN cable, start in recovery mode, enable networking, then drop into root. sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade sudo apt install nvidia-driver-390 see https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/ubuntu-linux-install-nvidia- driver-latest-proprietary-driver/ Now graphics will work. [Bug 317737] Re: firefox crashed with SIGSEGV, several tabs open
Plse let me know what required information you would need for future reports. Firefox had crashed on me several times with this install, and even caused Ubuntu once causing a reboot. -- firefox crashed with SIGSEGV, several tabs open https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/317737 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 305030] Re: Print PDF fails with Document Viewer, but works with ePDF
Dimitrios, I can print with any other application to this NAS attached printer, including printing the same file with Okular. I'll try tonight hooking up the printer directly and let you know. Yes, this bug looks a lot like http://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=499759 thanks for so swiftly looking into my report. rgds Christian Original-Nachricht Datum: Thu, 11 Dec 2008 21:14:59 - Von: Dimitrios Symeonidis azim...@gmail.com An: scr...@vollbio.de Betreff: [Bug 305030] Re: Print PDF fails with Document Viewer, but works with ePDF this looks similar: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=499759 are you sure the smb printer doesn't need authorization? have you checked the printer's settings? ** Changed in: evince (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- Print PDF fails with Document Viewer, but works with ePDF https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/305030 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. Status in “evince” source package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Binary package hint: evince PDF document fails to print with Document Viewer 2.24.1 with ¨Failed to print document - can't prompt for authorization¨ The same document prints with ePDF and Okular. Reproduceable with any PDF file I could find. Same problem after reboot. I am printing to a NAS attached print server. But I don't think this is the problem because I had the same issue a month ago with Ubuntu 8.04 on a different desktop printing to the same printer over USB cable. There are no print restrictions set on the print server. My problem occurs on a desktop running 8.10, 2.6.27-10-generic (#1 SMP Fri Nov 21 12:00:22 UTC 2008), pre-release updates, fresh install.
