[Bug 195051] Re: X freezes in drmCommandWrite() when Compiz is enabled on ATI Radeon Mobility 9600

2008-05-12 Thread Cpt-Falcon
Oh and btw, I tried to use the open source ati driver by configuring
xorg.conf, but it fails ! X freezes, and can't display anything... (just
the mouse cursor in the right resolution).

Well I was disappointed by Ubuntu 7.10, and I was waiting for 8.04
because it's a LTS, but it's even worse... I think I'm just going to
switch OS...

[Bug 195051] Re: X freezes in drmCommandWrite() when Compiz is enabled on ATI Radeon Mobility 9600

2008-05-12 Thread Cpt-Falcon
I have the same problem on my laptop until now :( I have an Acer Aspire
2026 with an ATI mobility radeon 9700.

I must use the vesa driver but the display is not correct : 1024x768 and my
screen is 1280x800...
If I use the ATI drivers the screen resolution is correct but the computer
freezes just after GDM. I must use the "failsafe seesion" to log in.

[Bug 216901] Re: Gnome-panel adds 18 minutes to evolution's calendar events

2008-04-25 Thread Cpt-Falcon
I've just install hardy and the problem is STILL there !
BUT I've found why : Evolution at first start up ask for a "time zone", that's
little strange because you do this at Ubuntu's install. But the time zone of
evolution is not the same as Ubuntu. (or Gnome's clock)

I'm in Reunion Island, so it's UTC +04:00. Ubuntu's clock is ok with that.
But in Evolution, Reunion Island is UTC +03:41:52, so if you take your
calculator, we have 18 minutes of difference. That's why I have 18 minutes more
in my panel.

The problem is not only for reunion island, but for many countries, just
look by yourself.

I hope this information was useful, and wait for a patch !

Yes this is reproducible with another new account. I've just created a
new user account on Hardy Beta, and the bug is still present. If you
want a new video from Hardy tell me.

Maybe it's a problem of "location". I'm from Reunion Island (Indian
Ocean), and French. Problem of language/translation/jet lag ?

[Bug 216901] [NEW] Gnome-panel adds 18 minutes to evolution's calendar events

2008-04-13 Thread Cpt-Falcon
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

I didn't notice this bug until now, and the bug is present on Gutsy and
on Hardy beta too.

SO WHAT IT IS ?
When you create a new event on evolution's calendar, you can see them by
clicking on the gnome-panel's date. There you can see the name of the event and
the hour of the event. BUT the hour in gnome-panel is 18 minutes later than the
REAL event you have entered in evolution.

I post a video, taken on Gutsy, but it's the same for Hardy.

[Bug 214500] [NEW] numeric keypad doesn't work on hardy

2008-04-09 Thread Cpt-Falcon
Public bug reported:

hi all, the problem is simple : numeric keypad doesn't work on my two
computer in hardy beta 5 (one laptop with external USB keyboard, and one
desktop with usb keyboard too).

HOW TO REPRODUCE BUG :
Just install Hardy Beta 5 (you can install all updates if you want but the bug
is still there). Open gnome-editor or anything else you can write in and use
your numeric keypad !

When Num lock is off the num keypad is like arrow keys (normal), and
when num lock is ON the keypad doesn't respond (except Enter). I noticed
that the keys "jkluio789" work like "123456789" and the others key are
disabled, like if I was using a laptop. But I use a desktop with a
normal keyboard !

Today I've just done 130Mb of updates and the problem is still there
after reboot...

PS : If I use Shift + num keypad it works. But I don't want to use shift all
the time !
PS2 : CTRL+SHIFT+NUM LOCK make the num keypad to control the mouse cursor.

[Bug 160262] Re: Deskbar Tracker fails to open evolution emails

Why there is no update to solve this problem ? Do we NEED to compile ?

There are a lot of updates which change nothing for me (ok security as
they say), THIS is an update interesting !

OK I didn't notice that sorry !
How do you apply the patch ? Need to recompile ?

It's sad to say, but this version of Ubuntu is not fully functionnal !
F-spot is buggy like hell (with or without Compiz), Compiz causes some
"flickerings" on fullscreen app, Rhythmbox is buggy with fading between
songs enabled, deskbar tracker with evolution's mail... I know the
developpers have lots of work to do, but at least they could released
Gutsy later...

[Bug 151514] rhythmbox uses 100% CPU time when using crossfading

2007-10-11 Thread Cpt-Falcon
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

This is Ubuntu 7.10 beta, fresh install with all updates at the moment.

When you activate the "use crossfading backend" in Rhythmbox, (and then
restart it), the player uses 100% CPU time when playing. It causes the
sound to be laggy when you switch to another window or you do anything
else. (My CPU is burning !!! lol)
