[Bug 452591] Re: apparmor profile prevents firefox from using open containing folder with nautilus

2009-10-23 Thread Dan Taylor Jr.
I can confirm this on Ubuntu 64-bit karmic beta. It also appears to
affect opening files. If I try to open a downloaded file on the
open/save as dialog, such as a torrent, it fails to execute with any
handler I throw at it. Can anyone else confirm this behavior?

Colin,

I installed the kernel package you posted ( linux-

actually booted, detected the wireless card, and worked like a champ

Thanks Dan. After some digging around I suspect this problem occurs

Which version is your current kernel so that I can build one with some

[Bug 287835] [NEW] hostap_cs drivers with senao nl-2511cd fail to connect on kernels newer than 2.6.26-rt

2008-10-22 Thread Dan Taylor Jr.
Public bug reported:

I have a Senao NL-2511CD Ext2 Plus 802.11b PCMCIA wireless card running
on a Dell Inspiron 4150.

With kernels newer than 2.6.26-rt, I cannot connect to any wireless access
points (via network-manager or manually with iwconfig). Please note I have a
seperate bug filed for another unrelated issue with the hostap drivers (
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/254837 ) which is being worked on as well.
I can see the list of access points fine, once I connect to them I cannot send
or recieve any data.
Attached is a syslog dump, while I am trying to connect to an unencrypted
802.11b access point.
This bug may possibly be related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/263963 as
well
This is a definite show-stopper for me anyway.

Once I removed it, the places bar opens correctly now.

The question is how it got there, and why after doing a distribution

[Bug 271140] [NEW] WPA fails to authenticate with hostap drivers on 2.6.27

2008-09-16 Thread Dan Taylor Jr.
Public bug reported:

Hello,
I have a Senao NL-2511CD Plus EXT2 PCMCIA card (Prism II 802.11b). Ever since
Kernel 2.6.27 was released, I am no longer able to authenticate to a
WPA-Personal protected network. Booting with kernels 2.6.26 and earlier all
authenticate fine. I'm using the hostap_cs drivers (I blacklist the orinoco
drivers, which otherwise would load along with the hostap_cs drivers on
autodetect). When I insert the card, I get the NetworkManager dialog to enter
in my WPA/WPA2 paraphrase, and after about 15 seconds, the NetworkManager
dialog pops up again.

[Bug 263963] Re: wpa intrepid fails to autenticate

2008-09-11 Thread Dan Taylor Jr.
Another important thing, this seems to be an issue with the introduction of the
2.6.27 kernel.
I can authenticate just fine if I boot with the 2.6.26 or 2.6.25 kernel images.

I'm having the same issue with my senao NL-2511CD card using the hostap

[Bug 254837] Re: hostap_cs causes kernel oops on 2.6.26 with senao nl-2511cd

2008-09-05 Thread Dan Taylor Jr.
Unfortunately the BIOS has no option to enable/disable APIC, or to
adjust any IRQ settings for that matter (it is flashed with the latest
BIOS available from Dell for this laptop).

I've booted with the new kernel image and attached is a new screenshot. It
still hangs up on detecting the card.
Thanks for all your help!

2008-08-20 Thread Dan Taylor Jr.
Here's the new screenshot. the radeon framebuffer automatically sizes
to the maximum resolution it supports, so unfortunately I can't get any
more information on the screen than what is there. If only it would
crash when I change the console output to serial, this would be alot
less tedious :)
