I haven't formally release 6.5.8.1 but I can if you don't want to use the tagged one from git HEAD. I've put a .deb at http://www.skynet.ie/~airlied/ubuntu/xserver-xorg-driver- ati_6.5.8.1-0ubuntu1_i386.deb This is an update to the 6.5.7.3 driver in dapper.
