[Bug 290862] [NEW] Elisa display is corrupted

2008-10-29 Thread Dave roi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: elisa

Hi,
I get a corrupted display in Elisa.
This never happened on Hardy.
This happened first after I upgraded from hardy to intrepid and now it happens
again after I made a fresh install using the RC live CD.
This happens both with and without desktop effects.

This is probably connected with the same problem I am having with wine
applications.

Specs:
Intel Core2duo
ATI onboard graphics card.
Intrepid AMD64

[Bug 107738] Re: network-manager-pptp isn't installed by default

2007-10-28 Thread Dave Roi
I highly request this as well.
In my country, the only way to NOT use some kind of dialer (PPTP or L2TP) is to
buy a router.
You can't expect people to buy a router just so they can use Linux.

[Bug 141066] displayconfig-gtk TV

2007-09-19 Thread Dave Roi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: displayconfig-gtk

Hi,

displayconfig-gtk does not handle TVs at all.
There should be an option to set a certain display as a TV set.
>From my experience this should be nothing more than adding:

Option "TVOutFormat" "SVIDEO" #or COMPONENT
Option "TVStandard" "PAL-G" #or NTSC etc PAL-B/G/D/H/I

to the xorg.conf

In displayconfig-gtk there should be a box to select SVIDEO/COMPONENT
and PAL/NTSC and such.

I had to manually edit my xorg.conf to make it work as a TV.

[Bug 140026] Re: impossible to set the correct resolution with dual monitor (intel card)

2007-09-19 Thread Dave Roi
I have the same type of problem.
My main is an LCD and my second is a TV set (with SVIDEO)
I had to manually edit the resolutions and add the lines for the TV to work.

Dave.

resolutions it set.
Tell me if you need any more information.

Thanks.
Dave.

2007-09-18 Thread Dave Roi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: displayconfig-gtk

Hi,

After setting some displayconfig-gtk options I get an error trying to

[Bug 139800] Re: Screen and Graphics sets resolution wrong

2007-09-18 Thread Dave Roi
Hi,

I am having similar issues with 2 computers.
The resolution management in Screen and Graphics preferences needs a lot of
work.
It just doesn't work well.
detects wrong resolutions, doesn't detect manual changes to xorg.conf, isn't
synchronized with xorg.conf, crashes..
On several occasions clicking OK or test would do nothing.
This needs to be addressed.

Thanks.
Dave.

[Bug 140819] segmentation fault when running compiz fusion with dual monitors

2007-09-18 Thread Dave Roi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

Hi,

After configuring dual monitor support with extended desktop (not clone) I am
unable to run compiz fusion.
receiving this error every time I try to run it:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ compiz --replace
Checking for Xgl: not present.
Checking for texture_from_pixmap: present.
Checking for non power of two support: present.
Checking for Composite extension: present.
Checking for nVidia: present.
Checking for Xgl: not present.
Starting gtk-window-decorator
The program 'gtk-window-decorator' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'RenderBadPicture (invalid Picture parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 338 error_code 181 request_code 157 minor_code 8)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

When using clone mode, it does work but gives an incorrect resolution on the
second monitor (a TV in my case)
Thanks.
Dave.

[Bug 140625] Terminal window became graphically corrupt

2007-09-18 Thread Dave Roi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

Hi,

I've just done a clean install of gutsy tribe 5, but with an existing /home
partition from 7.04.
At first the terminal worked but after installing some packages (don't know
which one, I installed a lot) the terminal became corrupt.
The terminal window, when run, shows up as a very short very wide window with
parts that don't appear.
It is also impossible to click on any buttons, I could only close it by hitting
Alt+F4.
This currently happens every time I click on the terminal icon.

Thanks.
Dave.
