[Bug 554433] Re: [LUCID] cd/dvd not recognized
Just booted into 10.04 Beta1 and created a boot-able usb stick to test if the problem existed in Beta1. Booted from the usb stick and all is fine CD's show on the desktop and open automatically displaying their contents as expected and they eject and re-mount OK. So the problem has come as an update post Beta1 which has udev 151-5 but rather a lot of updates have occurred since Beta1 and I only have the live Beta1 i386 CD so I cant put udev 151-5 back to test if this was the culprit for the non mounting behavior seen now. -- [LUCID] cd/dvd not recognized https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/554433 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 546373] Re: [LUCID] CD tray close automatically after eject
I have the same problem and I am using a fully updated Lucid i386 install the drive in my machine is a Pioneer DVR-112. The first time after boot you put any media in the drive it is seen and is shown on the desktop and on ejecting the tray goes back in again the dis is detected and some activity is seen but nothing is seen on the desktop and if you are looking in /media the drive goes away. All was OK when I was running a fully updated Alpha3 install but I am not certain if it ever worked since the Beta1 install or only failed since the latest kernel update. I will boot into the previous kernel ans see if any behavior alters and report back. -- [LUCID] CD tray close automatically after eject https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/546373 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 546373] Re: [LUCID] CD tray close automatically after eject
Since the updates of yesterday the behavior has changed in that nothing put in the Pioneer DVR-112 now mounts when booted with either -16 or -17 kernel all that happens is you see a solid activity light as the disk spins up then a brief pause before a flashing activity light and when this stops instead of the disc in the drive being mounted the drive just disappears from Computer and on attempting to eject the disk instead of ejecting it just goes though the spin-up and read cycle when the eject button on the drive is pressed but if you press it a second time after the disk activity ceases it eject OK an the drive re-appears in computer. In the past I have seen this problem before on another distribution about 2 years ago and I think UDEV was the culprit for the failure then. I have booted the same hardware into what is normally used (Fully updated 8.04) and the drive performs as expected. Checking what has been updated since the install of Beta1 in /var/cache/apt/archive/ i can see we have had updates to the following packages which might also have caused this bug gvfs mount nautilus uuid-runtime udev --- (reported against) udisks -- [LUCID] CD tray close automatically after eject https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/546373 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
