[Bug 1279192] [NEW] package libgl1-mesa-dri 9.2.1-1ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite shared '/etc/drirc', which is different from other instances of package libgl1-mesa-dri:amd64.
Public bug reported: Is causing problems installing FGLRX driver, as well as long delay between log in and desktop display. [Bug 1114281] Re: ERROR @wl_cfg80211_get_station : Could not get rate (-1)
I was getting the same issue and solved it by following the instructions in a href=http://forums.fedoraforum.org/archive/index.php/t-280821.htmlfedoraforum.org/a and a href=http://www.broadcom.com/docs/linux_sta/README.txtwww.broadcom.com/a Which basically is to download the broadcom upstream STA driver source from broadcom, make a few minor edits to the source (explained in the fedora forum link) and compile the wl.ko module yourself, blacklist all the other broadcom modules. I sugesst reading through both pages completely. Not only did this get rid of the log file spamming, but the connection status is now as it should be, with the Ubuntu compiled version I could only get full strength right next to the router, now I get full strength up to 15 feet away (similar to windows). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1114281 Title: ERROR @wl_cfg80211_get_station : Could not get rate (-1) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/1114281/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1181927] Re: 13.04: Brightness control visible but does nothing
I'm effected by this problem or a similar issue as well. Give this a try and see what you get; when using your hotkeys continue to hold down the hotkey (for example if your stuck all the way up, use your hotkey to turn it all the way down and continue to hold the down hotkey for a period of usually 15 seconds or so). On my machine this will eventually change the backlight brightness, leading me to believe the problem is something to do with when the kernel is checking for changes in the control files. Incidentally I can also get the backlight to change to, at least close, to what I want by toggling back and forth between the level I want, and the level above or below it, for example if I want it set at 3, I can toggle back and forth between 3 and 4 and eventually it will change to one of those two levels, not how its supposed to work but better than all the way up or all the way down. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1181927 Title: 13.04: Brightness control visible but does nothing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1181927/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 986208] Re: Compiz does not remember user preferences upon system restart
Changing the order in the dconf key: /org/compiz/profiles/unity/plugins/core/active-plugins to read: ['core', 'composite', 'opengl', 'decor', 'gnomecompat', 'resize', 'snap', 'move', 'regex', 'place', 'vpswitch', 'grid', 'widget', 'compiztoolbox', 'session', 'imgsvg', 'mousepoll', 'imgpng', 'animation', 'wall', 'unitymtgrabhandles', 'workarounds', 'ezoom', 'fade', 'unityshell', 'scale', 'expo'] Fixed the issue for me, in Ubuntu 12.04 64bit. For those that are saying it's not working for them, make sure you have Ubuntu-Tweak installed. I recall in researching this issue, coming across a claim that a dependent package installed with Ubuntu Tweak, corrects another issue with screen triggers being retained across reboots. Also, I know this should be obvious, but if your machine won't do 3D acceleration these compiz plug-in's just plain don't work -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/986208 Title: Compiz does not remember user preferences upon system restart To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/986208/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1071590] [NEW] fglrx 2:8.982-0ubuntu1: fglrx kernel module failed to build
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1068513 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1068513 Public bug reported: Installing fglrx driver results in no desktop on fresh install of ubuntu 12.10 64 bit, and generates crash reports. I installed using software sources and manual install by command line. the lightdm login screen will show and allow me to log in and thats it, no unity desktop after that, I can get gnome fallback because I installed gnome shell. [Bug 984785] Re: .goutputstream files polluting $HOME
I have the same issue as everyone else, nothing much else to add. I don't recall these being generated in prior Ubuntu versions. Just a thought since others have suggested removing Ubuntu one solves the problem and others that logging out before shutdown does. It would seem something needs to be changed with how shutdown stops U1.
