I am having this same problem. Is there any extra info that I can provide to help? Can anyone point me in an approximate direction of how I would start to fix this? I've only ever done the most rudimentary of linux driver hacking, but I'm willing to give it a go. I'm also seeing this problem. I get this in my dmesg ACPI: Failed to switch the brightness This is my temporary hack for getting the keys working: http://github.com/zaius/bright It's definitely not perfect. Especially since the laptop can't put the screen to sleep after an idle time. But I don't even know where to start to fix ACPI problems. I'm having this problem on 9.10. I added the section to my xorg.conf, and tried both versions of the boot string, but I still can't get hibernate working. The screen dims, then it immediately returns back to the lock prompt.
