[Bug 28906] Re: init script starts before NFS, NIS, DNS (need two stages)

2012-04-13 Thread David Stansby
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test
it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running
apport-collect 28906 and any other logs that are relevant for this
particular issue.

[Bug 971561] Re: [MacBook5, 2, Realtek ALC889A, Green Headphone Out, Rear] No sound at all

2012-04-05 Thread David Stansby
Thanks for the quick reply!

The first option (altering /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf) just removed
all my sound.

The second option is a slight improvement - now my laptop speakers work,
and when I plug my earphones into the output the laptop speakers are
muted, and alsamixer seems to be giving the right names to the right
channels. However, there is still no sound coming out of my earphones at
all.

[Bug 559962] Re: Headphone jack doesn't work on MacBook 5,2

2012-04-02 Thread David Stansby
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected precise

** Description changed:

Steps to reproduce: Play audio, and plug in some earphones in the
  headphone jack

What happens: Audio continues to play through the internal laptop
  speakers, and not the earphones

What I expected to happen: The internal laptop speakers should mute and
the audio should play through the earphones plugged into the headphone
  jack.

This happens on a MacBook 5.2 running a fully updated 10.04, and the red
LED that is in the jack socket is on.
