I was pleasantly surprised that the auto-configure worked for me until i installed the nvidia driver and rebooted to the console login. I have onboard graphics and a PCI graphics card.
I was disappointed that "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg" no longer did what i expected it to do. I had to manually add "BusID "01:01:0" to the device section of xorg.conf Luckily i knew what i had to do, but i believe a lot of new users will be lost.
