This also effects the amd64 architecture, as one would expect since the
removal of erlang-wx.

[Bug 294167] Re: Menu selection causes program crash

2008-11-21 Thread Dorian Pula
This looks similar to bug 220628:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk-qt-engine/+bug/220628

What GTK engine are running for KDE? I always found that these can be
buggy, with the exception of QtCurve seems to work for me.

Try this:

Install QtCurve (sudo aptitude install gtk2-engines-qtcurve kde4-style-
qtcurve-kdeconfig)

Change the GTK engine for KDE 4 in System Settings Appearance GTK
Styles and Fonts. Under GTK Styles choose Use Another Style: and
choose QtCurve.

See if that helps.

Attempted to uninstall the nvidia driver by uninstalling it via jockey. And
running sudo dpkg -a --configure which fails.
Then reinstalled the driver via jockey and then tried to sudo dpkg -a

[Bug 202031] [NEW] VirtualBox Guest Additions not working for Hardy Guests

2008-03-13 Thread Dorian Pula
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: virtualbox-ose-modules

After installing the virtualbox guest additions for Hardy, and configure
xorg.conf to use those drivers; the mouse cursor disappears. The mouse
still works, but the cursor itself is rendered invisible.

Expected behaviour:
xorg restarts with a larger resolution and a working cursor.

Steps to reproduce bug:
1.) Install Hardy as a guest on virtualbox.
2.) Install virtualbox-ose-guest-source and virtualbox-ose-guest-utils.
3.) module-assistant prepare virtualbox-ose-guest
4.) module-assistant auto-install virtualbox-ose-guest
5.) Run /etc/init.d/virtualbox-ose-guest-utils start.
6.) Run /usr/share/virtualbox/x11config.pl. (This changes the mouse driver to
vboxmouse and the video driver to vboxvideo in /etc/X11/xorg.conf)
7.) Restart xorg

Workaround:
1.) sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
2.) Restart xorg (This setup does NOT use the vbox drivers.)

This bug affects Kubuntu 8.04 Hardy alpha, using version 1.5.4-dfsg-
4ubuntu3 of virtualbox-ose-guest-source and virtualbox-ose-guest-utils.

Upgraded strigi-daemon to 0.5.6-0ubuntu1. Strigi no longer takes up
