[Bug 1153329] Re: LPD network printer not recognized by the new gnome-control-center printer window

2013-03-11 Thread Doug Lomax
** Description changed:

  I'm using Ubuntu Raring.

I have a printer shared with some computers over ethernet using a d-link
  printserver using a LPD protocol.

To install it on my computer I go in gnome-control-center, then
printers, and finally add new printer. It opens a window in which I
should see it recognized my printer connected and it should be ready to
install it, but the only thing I see in the window i the no printers
detected message. I'm sure the printer is connected because older
Ubuntu version (i.e. 12.04) can recognize and install it.

- So i tried running system-config-printer from the command line and I saw
+ So I tried running system-config-printer from the command line and I saw
the old printers window, the one I usually see in Ubuntu 12.04. Clickng
add from that window the printer is recognized and i can install it.
So, for now I found a workaround, but I wonder how should a newbie do in
order to install a LPD printer? If the printer section in gnome-control-
center lacks some type of printer configuration/recoognization shouldn't
be better to reintroduce the old ugly but functional printer window
instead of this nice but not functional and confusing window?

I've used Ubuntu for several years now. I am TOTALLY disgusted w//10.4

I am not going to recommend Ubuntu to friends and family any more!!

I am so put out by this sloppy version (10.4) I am going to either
switch BACK TO 9.10 or go w/Fedora or SUSE.

Mark Jefferson Dela Cruz, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu
better. Please execute the following command, as it will automatically gather
debugging information, in a terminal:

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-bug' and
the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality
at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

[Bug 1054909] Re: Libre Office Writer after minimizing it deisapperas

2013-02-20 Thread Doug Lomax
** Description changed:

  This bug is similar to:

  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/886970
  and this:
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/bamf/+bug/842566

I'm openenig a writer file doc or odt, and after minimizing I can't open
it anymore. The only way is to go to the specific folder with this file
- and open it aganin which brings it out from minimization.
+ and open it again which brings it out from minimization.

[Bug 1054909] Re: Libre Office Writer after minimizing it deisapperas

2013-02-20 Thread Doug Lomax
I could not duplicate this problem with:
Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 32-bit
LibreOffice 3.5.4.2
Build ID: 350m1(Build:2)

Krzysztof, what LibreOffice version do you have?

[Bug 902080] Re: LibreWriter crashes when a copied graph from LibreCalc is pasted in, and then an attempt is made to save the document.

2013-02-13 Thread Doug Lomax
Hi,
Hope your having a good day. Screen shots are a difficult way to capture
information for papers.

Some questions to help resolve this problem inclde:
1. What version of Ubuntu are you using?
2. What version of LibreOffice are you using?

I couldnot recreate this problem on Ubuntu 12.04.
