[Bug 283635] Re: [MASTER] nm 0.7 VPN import of cisco .pcf settings doesn't work properly
This is still a bug in Network Manager Applet 0.8, Network Manager-vpnc 0.8-ubuntu3 The enc_GroupPwd= is imported from the .pcf file and it is decrypted, but it would appear that the resulting decrypted string is incomplete, probably truncated. As a result although the decrypted Group Password appears in the Network Manager applet it does not work. -- [MASTER] nm 0.7 VPN import of cisco .pcf settings doesn't work properly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/283635 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 244353] Re: [ooo-build] OpenOffice exports PDF with arabic numerals instead of regular numbers
Econtered this today. The document was originally a word file (.doc) Added some rows and colums from another open OO spreadsheet and then tried to export as PDF. Numbers but not text in the spreadsheet objects appeared in wrong (appears to be hebrew) font. Tried various fonts, saved doc as ODT rather than DOC, tried again, and again etc. Sometimes the problem seemed fixed with a change of font if saving closing and reopening the file before exporting. The problem appears random in than some times a save or change of font appears to fix the problem only to findanother table has reverted to the erroneous font in the pdf. -- [ooo-build] OpenOffice exports PDF with arabic numerals instead of regular numbers https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/244353 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 283635] Re: [MASTER] nm 0.7 VPN import of cisco .pcf settings doesn't work properly
I am using a version of the vpnc plugin that has been recompiled with certificate support (detail at http://www.publishing.ucl.ac.uk/roamnet.html) As noted in the original report I can connect using the command line vpnc-connnect. The problem is that NM cannot be used. The location of the certificate file and the Group password are included in my /etc/vpnc/default.conf. ( I am also able to connect with these argument on the command line.) It would appear that NM does not use this and entering the GroupPwd in the NM dialogue does not work No I cannot connect using NM even with the GroupPwd and entered in the NM dialogue . Of course that may be that NM isn't finding the cert [1], but the result of the export/import test suggests that both cert and GroupPwd are being ignored or mishandled. [1] I only have one example VPN to test, and that requires a cert. -- [MASTER] nm 0.7 VPN import of cisco .pcf settings doesn't work properly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/283635 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 67146] Re: synaptic pinning/locking does not work
I'm not sure if this is the same bug, but Pinning still appears broken in Jaunty Synaptic. I downloaded the source for vpnc, recompiled and installed with dpkg. When reloading the package index vpnc then appears in the list of updateable packages. I then pinned the package in synaptic. It appears in the status listing as 'Pinned'. If I reload then it no longer appears in the upgradeable list. So far so good. But if I 'Mark all Upgrades' although the pinned package is not marked when I click on 'Apply' the pinned package is included in the list of packages to be upgraded. So it appears to be pinned and the /var/lib/synaptic/preferences file contains an entry, but nonetheless synaptic is still marking it for update. -- synaptic pinning/locking does not work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/67146 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 113721] Re: Multi_key sequence forLatin capital U with macron
The only documentation I can find is the comments in the source code which I have quoted above. That is why I am creating the documentation on the Ubuntu wiki. As best as I can understand the actual code it would appear that the fix would be to change the unicode string to produce the correct characters eg /gtk/gtkimcontextsimple.c (gtk+ version 2.10.7) change lines 635 and 639 from 0x016B to 0x016A Source line 635 GDK_Multi_key, GDK_U, GDK_minus, 0, 0, 0x016A, /* LATIN_CAPITAL_LETTER_U_WITH_MACRON */ Source line 639 GDK_Multi_key, GDK_U, GDK_underscore, 0, 0, 0x016A, /* LATIN_CAPITAL_LETTER_U_WITH_MACRON */ This would make the comments, the sense of the Key sequence using upper case U and the unicode value all in agreement and coherent with similar codes in the file. Yes it would be best to open the bug upstream with Gnome but I already have a login with Ubuntu whereas I would have to open yet another account and forgettable password to do the same with Gnome. -- Multi_key sequence forLatin capital U with macron https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/113721 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 61184] Re: Screen brightness buttons don't work properly on Thinkpad (R60e)
The patch above (Svenny said on 2007-04-14:) did work for R60e with Fiesty (Fiesty had code in /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/10-laptop-panel-mgmt-policy.fdi for Lenovo X, T and Z series but nothing for R) But a few days ago there was an update to hal which changed /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/10-laptop-panel-mgmt-policy.fdi and removed the device match key=info.category string=laptop_panel match key=/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer:smbios.system.manufacturer string=LENOVO ... code completely. I am not sure if the changed hal now tries to fix this problem elsewhere, in which case model R had been overlooked again, or if the whole Lenovo laptop fix which was in the original Fiesty release has been dropped with the updated version. [Bug 113721] Multi_key sequence forLatin capital U with macron
Public bug reported: I am creating documentation for the Compose Key https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ComposeKey and https://help.ubuntu.com/community/GtkComposeTable in the course of which I am keying in all of the Multi_key sequences defined in /gtk/gtkimcontextsimple.c (gtk+ version 2.10.7) The sequences Multi_key U - [capital U, minus) and Multi_Key U _ (capital U, underscore) should produce Latin Capital U with macron Ū. [Bug 61184] Re: Screen brightness buttons don't work properly on Thinkpad Z61T
Seems this bug is same as 71204, 87028, 61184, 90925, 8i585, I append my case here to save opening yet another report. Thinkpad R60e, Kubuntu 7.04 (installed as herd4 updated to 2007-03-25 ie = 7.04 beta) Fn+Home and Fn+End Brightness buttons don't work properly on Thinkpad R60e. Screen goes blank, pressing button multiple times does get a response eventually and screen is dimmed. This feature does work ok on 6.06. -- Screen brightness buttons don't work properly on Thinkpad Z61T https://launchpad.net/bugs/61184 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 59882] Re: Access to remote SSH server does not distinguish the connection by port
I am using 6.10 Nautilus version 2.16.1 I have several servers behind a firewall to which I connect with SSH with private keys. ie. ssh://[EMAIL PROTECTED]:2201, ssh://[EMAIL PROTECTED]:2201 etc. This works ok for command line ssh/scp/sftp Using the Places:Connect to server menu I can create menu items in Places:Network places:Server 1, Places:Network places:Server 2 etc. But Nautilus does not distinguish by port so all the connections display the files on the first connection used. Rebooting the system resets this so another connection can be used. On version 6.06 the problem could be worked round as after a reboot each connection would work correctly, but I now find that with 6.10 even after a reboot the first selected connection in a session is the only one that connects. -- Access to remote SSH server does not distinguish the connection by port https://launchpad.net/bugs/59882 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 63418] Re: CPU soft lockup during bootup
The thermal sensor on the wireless card is needed to ensure the wireless operates at the correct frequency. If the wireless is switched off then obviously it does not matter. I assume the patch breaks a loop in which the system is held until the thermal sensor indicates that the wireless has 'warmed up' and calibrated. The patch thus fixes the proximate cause of the lock-up problem but is no more than a patch for a more fundamental problem; if the wireless is switched off the system should not be attempting to load and set up wireless at all. (though this does raise the problem of how this should be done if the wireless is switched on after boot has completed.) -- CPU soft lockup during bootup https://launchpad.net/bugs/63418 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 63418] Re: CPU soft lockup during bootup
noting the report of bug 70722 I recently had a strange problem with my wireless connection which affected both edgy and dapper. The wireless connection appeared to be ok at boot but then mysteriously disconnected after a minute or so. After several attempts to restart networking and reboots of both Dapper and Edgy I booted to my WinXP partition to check it that was working. It was not, but after booting back to Dapper wireless resumed normal operation and has not been a problem (at least in Dapper) since. Could this bug be a problem with the firmware binary that is loaded for the wireless driver? -- CPU soft lockup during bootup https://launchpad.net/bugs/63418 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 63418] Re: CPU soft lockup during bootup
It certainly seems to be related to the wireless switch I have been booting daily with wireless switch on two weeks and the problem has not occured. Today I booted with the Wireless switched off and had ¨soft lockup on CPU0¨. Rebooted, still with Wireless of and the boot was ok. I notice that just before the Reiser journal processing, which is where the lockup occurs there was with the sucessful boot a message ¨Wireless Kill Switch on this does not seem to appear on occasions when the lockup occurs. -- CPU soft lockup during bootup https://launchpad.net/bugs/63418 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Not sure if I am experiencing the same bug but. IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad R60e Sound volume on Edgy is very low ensuring the master volume slider and the keyboard buttons are at maximum the sound volume is barely audible, yet the same machine booted with dapper has more than adequate sound. 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02) -- snd-intel-hda requires options to work on AD1986A https://launchpad.net/bugs/63080 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
