I noticed the same from python-gst. I played the mp3 with with xmms and
noticed the bitrate never jumps to 224kbps or higher)
from python:
encoder = gst.element_factory_make('lame', 'mp3-encoder')

[Bug 100123] Playing vdeo in totem gives black window in Feisty beta
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem I tried an .avi so I installed the packages suggested by Totem. Playing the files gives a black screen in a window. The audio plays fine. Switching to fullscreen works (normal video). Switching back kinda works, but the app has trouble resizing. It messes up the desktop. I also tried the Experience.ogg in the Examples directory.
