[Bug 595337] [NEW] server installing, delete files in /var if select /var partition as /var mount point without format

2010-06-16 Thread Epsilom
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubiquity

the server has these partitions:
/
/boot
/home
/var

this had ubuntu 10.04 installed, but we had need reinstall, the server
has 6tb of disk space with raid 5(hardware) and lvm. For reinstall we
used ubuntu server 10.04 64bit, the steps that we made:

*select manual partition
*format /
*format /boot
*select for mount vat in /var without format
*select for mount home in /home without format

when we click in continue, show message said that some files in /var
overwrite because some app need this, click ok, and after continue with
fomatted but seconds after was completely blue screen

wait for several minutes and nothing, only blue screen without
information or process, and we deside reboot.

After install without mount /home and /var and install good, but in the
var partition were removed several files!! (there was only file spool,
tmp, www, .. alphabetical delete?)

we lost DBs and files backups

[Bug 218867] [NEW] [Hardy][KDE control module] Control user privileges not work

2008-04-17 Thread Epsilom
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kde-guidance

kde-guidance 0.8svn have new feature in modify user account, add control
privileges more friendly, great idea, but not works!.

go to:

*kmenu system settings user manager(administrador mode)(select
user)click in Modify...

go to tab privileges and groups this show two column: secondary
group this work but privilege not work, for example:

*when Uncheck the box administer the system and click in ok, I
continue with permission for administer the system (yet if reboot).

This should not happen, and I see although uncheck the box administer
the system I continue pertaining in group admin (is it right?), in
other words, there are not connect between privilege and secondary
group. Also happen with the others items of privilege (not works).

[Bug 217819] [NEW] [hardy][need-update-package] strigi 0.5.8

2008-04-15 Thread Epsilom
Public bug reported:

strigi new release v 0.5.8, please update packages.

Changelog:
0.5.8
 - Improve quiting latency of the most important analyzers. Now Strigi reacts
more quickly when you tell it to stop indexing.
 - Add a tool to analyze the analyzer latency profile and find analyzers that
have a high latency.
 - Bring field names in line with the Xesam ontology.
 - New analyzers for avi, wav, dds, rgb, sid and ico file types.
 - Fix deepgrep (finally working again since 0.5.2) and extend the number of
fields deepgrep searches in. Now it also searches in fields that are passed as
unsigned char* to the IndexWriter, but only if they are not registered as
being binary fields.
 - Install two headers that provide metadata information about field types.
Basically, these classes publish the ontology that strigi uses.
 - Fix a problem with CLucene throwing CLuceneError. Because of
-fvisibility=hidden, the code did not recognize CLuceneError and caused it to
fall through, thus crashing programs using libstreamanalyzer. A unit test to
avoid the problem from reappearing has been added.
 - Fix for system where setenv() is not available (for instance windows).
Hopefully those systems have putenv() :)
 - Remove support for starting strigidaemon with an arbiratry index type and
index dir, but add an option to use a different configuration file. This
effectively gives the use the same possiblities.
 - Fixes to the build system that allow strigi to be built and tested as part
of a larger project (e.g. kdesupport).
 - 'strigicmd listFiles' now can be used to retrieve all files/dir indexed
under a certain path
 - Added for support for Gentoo-way compilation flags. Implemented more
consistent and pretty optional dependency handling.

[Bug 112671] Re: crash openoffice resize pages after edit ole draw

2007-05-21 Thread Epsilom
HI Brian Murray,

I used Kubuntu 7.04 and openoffice.org version: 2.2.0-1ubuntu3

this bugs I can always reproduce.

step 1 : insert in openoffice write a object Ole draw

step 2 : drawing in ole horizontal lines, copy this line and move on
original line (the original line disappear graphically: strange behavior
of openoffice draw(other bug?))

step 3: exit of Ole draw, then change size of page from A4 to letter,
openoffice will be zoombi, that later I must kill it

this bug is not easiest reproduce but is easy with original file and
follow steps 2 and 3 (see video)
