[Bug 575146] Re: SCSI Scan order wrong
apport information ** Tags added: precise ** Description changed: During a fresh installation of Ubuntu 10.04, I noticed that the Linux kernel is scanning and registering the hard drives incorrectly. In my Dell Precision workstation 690, I have 4 500GB SATA hard drives configured in two RAID 1 sets. /proc/scsi/scsi shows the following: Host: scsi8 Channel: 01 Id: 02 Lun: 00 Vendor: Dell Model: VIRTUAL DISK Rev: 1028 Type: Direct-AccessANSI SCSI revision: 05 Host: scsi8 Channel: 01 Id: 00 Lun: 00 Vendor: Dell Model: VIRTUAL DISK Rev: 1028 Type: Direct-AccessANSI SCSI revision: 05 Id: 00 Lun: 00 is showing as /dev/sdb Id: 02 Lun: 00 is showing as /dev/sda This caused two problems during the install. One when I configured my boot partition, I had to set it to /dev/sdb, and two Grub failed to install to /dev/sdb during the install. I had to manually install grub into /dev/sdb before I got a bootable system. I can provide what ever logs you need to debug this. Presently my system is bootable, but still is showing the same wrong scsi scan order. --- AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.21. [Bug 575146] Re: SCSI Scan order wrong
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: During a fresh installation of Ubuntu 10.04, I noticed that the Linux kernel is scanning and registering the hard drives incorrectly. + + + --- + AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.21. + Architecture: amd64 + ArecordDevices: + List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices + card 0: XFi [Creative X-Fi], device 0: ctxfi [Front/WaveIn] +Subdevices: 1/1 +Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USERPID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC0: eric 2644 F pulseaudio + CRDA: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory + Card0.Amixer.info: + Card hw:0 'XFi'/'Creative X-Fi 20K1 Unknown' +Mixer name : '20K1' +Components : '' +Controls : 30 +Simple ctrls : 11 + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 + HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=2192dcd9-94fc-4af6-a812-4558608ecc36 + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx - Release amd64 (20100427.1) + MachineType: Dell Inc. [Bug 568082] Re: init: statd main process ended, respawning upstart problem
I'm having this same issue. I also have a /var volume using LVM, but I am mounting two NFS shares in the fstab. I performed a clean installation using the alternative CD for Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. -- init: statd main process ended, respawning upstart problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/568082 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 44836] Re: NFS mounts on clients don't appear in `mount` or `df` output
I still have this problem in hardy. I'm running the latest patches. mount -a will mount all missing NFS mounts after I'm logged in. I have a Precision Workstation 690, so the race condition spoken about before may still be happening with faster systems. -- NFS mounts on clients don't appear in `mount` or `df` output https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/44836 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 66350] Re: Firefox uses high CPU for extended periods of time when spawning a new window with many tabs already open
I have this problem as well using Ubuntu 8.04 and the latest patches of everything. The only thing unique about my system is that I'm running a custom Hardy kernel to support PAE and Xeon processor. Typically I can kill the firefox process and bring up a new window, but that is always a pain. I can also reproduce this at will by trying to open three separate Firefox instances. I can open two, but when I try to open the third, the first two go to gray screen and firefox is using 100% of CPU. ** Also affects: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- Firefox uses high CPU for extended periods of time when spawning a new window with many tabs already open https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/66350 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
