[Bug 1878723] Re: Kernel panic when used with upstart after 0.11-4ubuntu2.1 update
I also experienced this bug today. What seems to have happened is that upstart init filled all of the memory on my machine while libjson-c2 was updating, leading to oom-killer killing everything. The kernel panic here would happen if oom-killer tries to act on init. After a reboot my machine managed to upgrade fully before crashing due to running out of memory again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1878723 Title: Kernel panic when used with upstart after 0.11-4ubuntu2.1 update To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/json-c/+bug/1878723/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1787857] Re: USB mouse cursor lags after random time of correct behaviour
I encountered this recently under Ubuntu 16.04.5 with Linux 4.15.0-65-lowlatency with an AMD A8-3870k APU. In the most recent case the machine was fine for nearly a week until I was reading a large amount of data off a usb stick. By moving my mouse receiver to a USB 3.0 port I was able to make the mouse work normally again without having to reboot. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1787857 Title: USB mouse cursor lags after random time of correct behaviour To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1787857/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1482187] Re: [147461.082140] BUG: soft lockup - CPU#3 stuck for 22s! [khugepaged:40]
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: Happened right after a YouTube video of music finished. mouse and keyboard locked up but system monitor applet kept running showing full usage of all four cpu cores. tried to log on remotely but this was very slow. used htop to see what was using cpu but it showed only three cores active with boinc work units as usual conflicting with the system monitor applet. eventually htop stopped working. could not find excess cpu usage with top either. eventually the system monitor applet showed only 50% cpu usage with lots of io waiting. eventually did soft reset. cpu is overclocked but has run stable with heavy boinc usage for weeks. [Bug 1424491] Re: apt-get fails to install fglrx or fglrx-updates in 14.04.2 and 12.04.5
Running 14.04.2 with original X stack and Utopic kernel. updated fglrx- updates, fglrx-amdcccle-updates to the versions in proposed and it didn’t work, giving several errors; first got an error due to this bug #1444336 simply selecting the packages for re-installation in synaptic allowed them to install properly, but I then encountered more errors after reboot; fglrxinfo in terminal gives: X Error of failed request: BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation) Major opcode of failed request: 155 (GLX) Minor opcode of failed request: 19 (X_GLXQueryServerString) Serial number of failed request: 12 Current serial number in output stream: 12 Trying to start Catalyst Control Center gives There was a problem initializing Catalyst Control Center Linux edition. It could be caused by the following. No AMD graphics driver is installed, or the AMD driver is not functioning properly. Please install the AMD driver appropriate for you AMD hardware, or configure using aticonfig. Running aticonfig gives Unable to open /etc/ati/control, please reinstall the driver. aticonfig: No supported adapters detected Finally, Boinc complains about No usable GPUs found. Completely removing, restarting and reinstalling fglrx-updates and related packages from proposed and running aticonfig --initial fixes all of these errors. Thus I think there may be problems for people when they try to update fglrx if this version hits the official repos. Unfortunately I found another problem with Boinc Boinc now thinks that the gpu doesnt support opencl, giving these errors; App version needs OpenCL but GPU doesn't support it Application uses missing ATI GPU Running clinfo seems to indicate that OpenCL is installed. Boinc recognized it as OpenCl fine with the previous driver version. Thus I think there is something wrong with the driver, specifically OpenCL recognition. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1424491 Title: apt-get fails to install fglrx or fglrx-updates in 14.04.2 and 12.04.5 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/fglrx/+bug/1424491/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
