[Bug 1577927] Re: After upgrade, can no longer set tab titles
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=740188 Seems to be the related bug. It sounds like this was added back in (possibly)? So maybe we'll see the feature come backup in Y or Z? (I know, having to upgrade just to get the features you used to have is a pain.) [Bug 1315733] Re: Python interactive interpreter does not indent with tabs, tries to tab-complete
Matthias, no, that was not apparently the intent, see the last two messages of that bug report: http://bugs.python.org/issue5845#msg215784 The bug report was tracking multiple issues, and someone forgot about this one (and later said that they did, and said should have gone back to being a release blocker after the alpha release to fix the tab-as-indent issue). The intent of that bug report was to enable tab to complete, but also still allow tab in the interpreter as indentation (so a tab at the start of a (continuation) line would indent, and a tab after a non-whitespace character would complete). They requested that this issue be raised in a new bugreport on the python bug tracker -- doing that now. [Bug 1315733] [NEW] Python interactive interpreter does not indent with tabs, tries to tab-complete
Public bug reported: Using the python3 interactive interpreter, I can not use tabs to indent like I could on previous versions of Ubuntu (13.10 was what I was using before, now I'm using 14.04). When I try to indent on the python interpreter command line, it simply does nothing the first time I press the tab key. The second time I press it, it shows a bunch of autocomplete suggestions. For example if (True): ... tabprint(true!) File stdin, line 2 print(true!) ^ IndentationError: expected an indented block Could this be related to http://bugs.python.org/issue18988? Is the fix for that included in the version of python on 14.04? [Bug 1225695] Re: Node DNS does not stay updated
So far I haven't seen this come up again. I've had a lot more sucess having the various KVM machines managed by libvirt this time, and following http://askubuntu.com/questions/292061 /how-to-configure-maas-to-be-able-to-boot-virtual-machines so that MaaS can boot the machines at the right time. I wonder if me guessing when a machine needs to be started (and running the KVM command on the host running all these VM's) was sending extra DHCP requests and somehow throwing stuff off? If that is what was happening, I'm not sure if that is a bug or not (depends on if you want the MaaS system able to handle people walking through their datacenter and pressing the power button on some server that is off. I could see MaaS serving an image with instructions that basically say go back to sleep). I'm also using the 13.10 version for my MaaS controller, maybe that is what fixed it (so for, I hope, crossing fingers). I think I'll set this to incomplete for now since I don't know if this still happens. If it does happen again, I'll just set it back to new. ** Changed in: maas (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to maas in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1225695 Title: Node DNS does not stay updated To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/maas/+bug/1225695/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1225695] [NEW] Node DNS does not stay updated
Public bug reported: I'm using Ubuntu server 12.04 for my Region controller and cluster controller, which is on the same machine. I have been able to provision a few machines shortly after enrolling them. However, I am later unable to login to the machines using the DNS name. If I can find the machine's IP (say by nmap ping scan and some guessing) it appears to still be there. I've tried tailing the logs in /var/log/maas/ but can't see anything that looks wrong. [Bug 1225695] Re: Node DNS does not stay updated
Ok, here's a better example. Since this is virtualized, I was able to do a packet capture on the Nic (tap device) of the machine I wanted to get into. I identified the IP that way, and then from there was able to login with an ssh key that I had earlier put into the MaaS Gui. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to maas in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1225695 Title: Node DNS does not stay updated To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/maas/+bug/1225695/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1225695] Re: Node DNS does not stay updated
I think I got this going. I'm not sure what exactly fixed it. I rebooted the MaaS server (region controller and cluster controller in this case) and also changed the nameserver I was using so I wasn't asking an external server that couldn't reach the private IP of the MaaS DNS server to do recursive lookups for me (which would obviously fail). As you can see in the previous comment to this one, I looked up the DNS and it was wrong, but I was using the internal MaaS DNS server. So, maybe restarting did it?

-- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1225695 Title: Node DNS does not stay updated To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/maas/+bug/1225695/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
** Changed in: maas (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1225695 Title: Node DNS does not stay updated To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/maas/+bug/1225695/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1225695] Re: Node DNS does not stay updated
I'm having it do it again. A restart did not fix it. I've tried using dig against the maas-dns comptuer's ip as the DNS server, and still get the wrong answer. ** Changed in: maas (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1225695 Title: Node DNS does not stay updated To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/maas/+bug/1225695/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 894600] [NEW] Xorg freeze with neauvou
Public bug reported: The facts: Xorg freezes. No display corruption Mouse moves but does not change like it should (for example when over text). Alt+SysRQ+R, then Alt+SysRQ+K kills X and lets me log in again. Happens only with Unity, not unaccelerated environments. Using Neauvou driver on 11.10. Wasn't a problem on Maverick. Animations that should be smooth are jittery like showing the unity bar or searching in Unity. Not so sure, but think is true: Seems to freeze with lots of text changes, especially in a terminal. Like holding down backspace, moving cursor fast in nano. Or searching in Unity dash. Also, dragging windows. [Bug 880645] Re: btrfs device delete /dev/sdaX / fails with error ERROR: error removing the device '/dev/sdaX'
According to #btrfs on freenode, this problem occurs because balancing the filesystem raid1 mirrors the meta data. Then you are not allowed to remove any devices because the metadata wouldn't be raid1 mirrored any more. The weird question that comes from this is why are you allowed to make a btrfs filesystem with raid1 that only has one device in the first place? It seems like you can not have the raid1 problem by making your btrfs partitions with 'mkfs.btrfs -m single -d single /dev/sdxx' which specifies that both the data (-d) and the metadata (-m) are not raid1 mirrored. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/880645 Title: btrfs device delete /dev/sdaX / fails with error ERROR: error removing the device '/dev/sdaX' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/btrfs-tools/+bug/880645/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 872090] [NEW] [regression] nautilus does not clear search box on folder open, nor does backspace clear characters
Public bug reported: In previous versions of Ubuntu, you could quickly navigate folders by starting to type their name. The selection would jump to the first folder matching the current string. You could continue typing until it got the correct folder. Then you could press enter and the folder would open, resetting (and hiding) the search box. You could then start typing the name of the subfolder you wanted (and repeat until you got to your destination). If you made a mistake typing, you could backspace in the search box and correct it. Once you opened a folder and the searchbox reset (and hid) you could navigate up with the backspace key. However, on the daily image (Oneiric 10-10-2011), the search box does not reset or hide upon a folder opening. Furthermore, even when the search box is visible and your cursor is in it, pressing backspace does not delete characters--it navigates up! I would expect the correct behavior to be to work like previous ubuntu versions: Reset and hide the search when you open a folder with enter, backspace character if the typing cursor is in the search (otherwise navigate up). To reproduce: On a previous version of ubuntu (Natty, Maverick) open nautilus. Click in the file and folder area. Press backspace until you are in the root of the file system. Type 'e'. 'etc' should be selected. Press enter to open /etc/ Notice the search box disappears and /etc opens. Type 'uf' 'ufw' should be selected. Notice you did not have to clear out the 'e' you typed into the search last time. Press backspace to clear the character 'f' from the current search, 'uf'. Notice the character 'f' is deleted and that you are still in /etc/. Type 'd' and press enter to open /etc/udev. Now, try the same test on Oneiric: On a Oneiric, open nautilus. Click in the file and folder area. Press backspace until you are in the root of the file system. Type 'et'. Notice that the search box disappears after typing the second letter (Not expected, a bug). Press enter to open the currently selected /etc. Type 'ud' and notice that no search comes up (this is a bug). Close nautilus and reopen. Type 'docu' to select documents, press backspace to delete 'u' and press enter. Notice the search works as expected. Press backspace to navigate up (this is working normal) Type 'Public'. [Bug 846089] [NEW] Xorg freeze: logging in with unity, compiz freezes
Public bug reported: Upon freshly installing Natty and moving all the /home data from a Maverick install, GLX acceleration no longer works. When I login with either the Unity or Ubuntu Classic, the screen will change, sometimes even showing the unity panel. However, it freezes and it unresponsive to clicking (but the mouse will move). Using the Ubuntu Classic (no effects) works fine. I have a Nvidia 7300 GS and I am using the Nvidia binary driver (the plymouth one has horrible corruption on the Ctl Alt F1-F6 consoles). This is a regression; glx acceleration used to works fine on Maverick. I avoided Natty for this machine because of it's use as a web server and router for my house--I needed it to work, and didn't want to spare the downtime for testing. (I am now running Natty though, but not with acceleration). I have tried to describe the bug the best I can, but if you need me to try/test something more I will. [Bug 776038] [NEW] Update manager fails to dist-upgrade with IPv6-only connection
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager A maverick install that only has an IPv6 only connection (and even an IPv6 mirror or apt package cache configured) will not detect the natty upgrade through the update manager. If you run check-new-release you get the right result, and if you run do-release-upgrade it knows, but Update manager doesn't know until you give it a IPv4 connection and then have it recheck for updates. Once it knows, it will complain if of not being able to get the release notes if it is switched back to v6 only. To reproduce: Set the internet connection of a Ubuntu install that doesn't know about the Natty release to having IPv4 set to disabled. (Edit connection - IPv4 tab - Set menu to disabled. Apply. Reconnect.) Configure apt to use either an IPv6 available package cache or an IPv6 available mirror. Open update manager and have it check for new updates. Notice that it never discovers that there's a new Natty release. Run check-new-release. Notice it gets the correct result. Enable IPv4 and recheck. You should get a message that Natty is available. Disable IPv4. Try to upgrade. Notice you get an error about not being able to get release notes, and you cannot complete the upgrade. From running wireshark, it looks like Update manager is looking for http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/meta-release to find out about new releases, which is unreachable over IPv6. That file mentions http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/natty/main/dis-upgrade- all/current/ReleaseAnnouncement, which is probably where it's (trying to) getting release notes. Ok, well I guess I'll just let this bug be until they decide that they are ready to take bug reports. To tell the truth, I tried these drivers about 6 months ago and I was impressed by how well they work now. So far, this bug was the only thing wrong with them. The bug happens so rarely that the other benefits (high resolution TTYs, nice boot screen) outweigh the problems (at least on a testing machine). So I'm definitely not complaining.
