[Bug 1165798] [NEW] Asks for caldav password on every login

2013-04-07 Thread Ezra Morris
Public bug reported:

I have a number of caldav calendars in Evolution. When I added them, a
dialog appeared asking for authentication. I entered the password and
selected the option to save it.

However, every time I log in, the same authentication boxes appear, with
the password already completed.

I would expect that after doing this once, it would automatically
attempt to login with the saved password.

[Bug 863301] Re: menus disappear on mouse-up

2011-10-15 Thread Ezra Morris
I observe this behavior when I have an external monitor and:
* the displays are cloned, or
* the desktop is extended. In this case, as Scott mentioned, the laptop display
has this issue, whereas the external display does not.

In case it matters, to test this, I used the Fn key on my laptop to
switch configurations. (Fn+F8 - CRT/LCD).

[Bug 95727] Re: update notifier crashes on startup

2011-09-20 Thread Ezra Morris
I also see this. Every time update-notifier starts (either automatically
or manually), it crashes and a Problem Report dialog appears. The
process does not actually terminate, but a backtrace as described at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace is attached. Ctrl-C was pressed when
the Problem Report dialog appeared.

There doesn't seem to be anything relevant in /var/crash:
$ ls -l /var/crash

If any further information is required, I'll endeavor to get it.

[Bug 471990] [NEW] Task Switcher panel applet has problems with mouse hover and click

2009-11-02 Thread Ezra Morris
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

Apologies for the vague summary, but it's tricky to explain.

Basically, after upgrading to Karmic, very often when trying to use the
task switcher on the panel, it fails to detect that the mouse has moved
over or clicked on a task button. It is very irritating, and you have to
move the mouse away from the button and back again in order to select
it.

Also, task buttons often stay in their hover state even when the mouse
moves off them.

Attached is a screencast to try to demonstrate the problem. When the
cursor is moving around over the task button, I am clicking several
times, but it is not responding.

The screencast does not use the default Ubuntu theme, but trying the
Human theme has the same effect.

[Bug 242137] Re: pidgin-musictracker should allow status messages when music has stopped

2009-01-21 Thread Ezra Morris
Sorry I didn't get back sooner.

To clarify: on 2008-11-25 I meant the current upstream release worked
correctly; with pidgin changing back to the personal message when music
was stopped.

However, using Ubuntu Jaunty, with the package from the repository, the
existing song is still displayed after the music is stopped. This was
using Rhythmbox, not sure about anything else.

Also, my mistake; it does revert when Rhythmbox is closed completely.

Log coming soon.

[Bug 258559] Re: Changing volume with function keys hangs the system when Rhythmbox is in focus

2008-12-01 Thread Ezra Morris
I would say create a new one, and report it in your own words.
This will allow the bug to become 'New' again, and will wait for someone to
confirm it.
In theory, we could just mark this as new again, but it has already been
'fixed' for some people.

In your bug report, it would probably be best to link to this bug report
and make a point that you still have the problem, even though it has
'already been fixed' to avoid it being reported as a dupe.

[Bug 285485] Re: webcam doesn't work on kernels later than 2.6.24-19

2008-11-03 Thread Ezra Morris
Hi,
I'm pretty sure bug #282473 isn't relevant, since I don't get a green colour,
rather the video doesn't work at all.

The other two I don't think are the same bug, but I'm not sure to be honest.
All I know is that it doesn't load the video.
An example of the error from mplayer when running mplayer -really-quiet tv://
-tv driver=v4l:width=640:height=480:device=/dev/video0:

mplayer: could not connect to socket
mplayer: No such file or directory

When plugged in, I get the following from dmesg:

[Bug 205990] Re: [hardy] splash screen disappears after a few seconds

2008-10-27 Thread Ezra Morris
@Alex:
As I said before:
---
So, in your case, the partition holding the swap file is not yet mounted,
therefore it is impossible for the system to look for a 'resume file' inside
the swap file, and the same problem occurs.
---
IE. because it can't access the swap listed in the resume file, it drops to
text boot.

I would always advise using a separate partition for swap, anyway.

Note: when I said 'resume file' here, I meant stuff in swap holding information
about resuming from hibernation, rather than /etc/*/*/resume

@Alex:
Isn't this the same case when the resume and fstab files are wrong? Unless I'm
mistaken, even when you change your RAM to a different partition, (ie. when it
can't find it from resume and fstab), the pulsating bar still shows up, but
then disappears for the (what would have been) sequential stage.

[Bug 205990] Re: [hardy] splash screen disappears after a few seconds

2008-10-11 Thread Ezra Morris
@Alex:
Yes, I have checked.
Basically, usplash loads fine (pulsating), but the problem occurs when the
system is looking for a 'system resume file'. It cannot find the partition
listed in fstab and resume, therefore cannot check for a 'resume file', and
drops to a terminal.

So, in your case, the partition holding the swap file is not yet
mounted, therefore it is impossible for the system to look for a 'resume
file' inside the swap file, and the same problem occurs.
