This issue still exists with 15.04. If you are lazy and only want to type the password, it still requires your finger to authenticate. We're using squid/2.7.STABLE5 proxy on port 8081. Blaming on Ubuntu doesn't solve the problem. The importance has been increased a few weeks ago (Wishlist → Medium). Just as Peter said, the panel is stuck open sometimes. fweigend@falco-pc:~$ dpkg --list|grep nux-tools ii nux-tools 0.9.46-0ubuntu4 the workaround, which works for me, is to drag an icon from the desktop over the panel and back again. After that, it's working normal.
