[Bug 903422] Re: Ubuntu does not work with Samsung Galaxy phones ( Unable to open raw device 0)
I encounter this bug also with my Intel Orange phone with Android 4.0 and Ubuntu 12.04 (Device 0 (VID=8087 and PID=09fc)) This is a very BIG regression, because it used to work normaly (at fast speed) on my computer since last week where I have let ubuntu proceed to updates. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/903422 Title: Ubuntu does not work with Samsung Galaxy phones ( Unable to open raw device 0) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gvfs/+bug/903422/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 871667] Re: .Xauthority sometimes owned by root, which blocks login
A colleague of mine was also affected by this bug upgrading to 12.04. Just had to change the owner of the .Xauthority file: chown myuser:myuser /home/myuser/.Xauthority (.Xauthority was previously owned by root). But from the user point of view, this bug is really hard to understand. When he try to login, the screen just get back to the login screen after few seconds. There is no error message, neither no log about what is the issue anywhere. It would be good to at least have an error message giving a clue about what is the problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/871667 Title: .Xauthority sometimes owned by root, which blocks login To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/871667/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 521492] Re: Dual Monitor wallpaper is not scaling across both monitors, same background is repeated on both monitors instead
Hi, This is a random guess from looking at the source code, but is there someone here with a double monitor able to recompile gnome desktop to try the following fix: In libgnome-desktop/gnome-bg.c around line 833 { in function static GdkPixbuf * get_scaled_pixbuf (...) , around line 833 } switch (placement) { case G_DESKTOP_BACKGROUND_STYLE_SPANNED: - new = pixbuf_scale_to_fit (pixbuf, width, height); + new = pixbuf_scale_to_min (pixbuf, width, height); break; case G_DESKTOP_BACKGROUND_STYLE_ZOOM: new = pixbuf_scale_to_min (pixbuf, width, height); break; case G_DESKTOP_BACKGROUND_STYLE_STRETCHED: new = gdk_pixbuf_scale_simple (pixbuf, width, height, GDK_INTERP_BILINEAR); break; -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/521492 Title: Dual Monitor wallpaper is not scaling across both monitors, same background is repeated on both monitors instead -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 521492] Re: Dual Monitor wallpaper is not scaling across both monitors, same background is repeated on both monitors instead
No, because there is the following piece of code before, so my guess is that my fix proposal will give a : SPAN + ZOOM effect. if (is_root (bg-placement != G_DESKTOP_BACKGROUND_STYLE_SPANNED)) { draw_color_each_monitor (bg, dest, screen); if (bg-placement != G_DESKTOP_BACKGROUND_STYLE_NONE) { draw_each_monitor (bg, dest, screen); } } else { draw_color (bg, dest, screen); if (bg-placement != G_DESKTOP_BACKGROUND_STYLE_NONE) { draw_once (bg, dest, screen); } } -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/521492 Title: Dual Monitor wallpaper is not scaling across both monitors, same background is repeated on both monitors instead -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 566612] [NEW] Opening applications from Tray icon keep creating new windows that are not closed when minimizing to tray leading to the Maximum number of clients reached for graphical applicatio
Public bug reported: (Maximum number of clients reachedxwininfo: unable to open display ':0.0') Trying to find the origin of the following bug that I experienced : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-screensaver/+bug/263211 (also http://www.karakas-online.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10494) without gnome-screensaver being involved, i discovered something: xlsclient was around 25 (so normal), and `xwininfo -root -children|wc -l` was around 200 so also normal. But I couldn't open an application. Then i discovered that `xwininfo -tree -root|wc -l` was huge: more than 3000. Then I noticed that each time I un-minimize an application from its tray icon (currently I use XCHAT and thunderbird with the minimize to tray addon): this number grow but don't go down when i re-minimized it again to the tray. Example: Xchat as a tray icon: u...@user-desktop:~/dev/work/wspaces$ xwininfo -tree -root|wc -l 2676 Then xchat opened by clicking on the tray icon: u...@user-desktop:~/dev/work/wspaces$ xwininfo -tree -root|wc -l 2695 Then clicking again on the xchat tray icon to minimize to tray the window: u...@user-desktop:~/dev/work/wspaces$ xwininfo -tree -root|wc -l 2695 Then clicking again on the xchat tray icon to reopen the window: u...@user-desktop:~/dev/work/wspaces$ xwininfo -tree -root|wc -l 2714 And so on, this value always increasing each time I click on the tray icon to reopen the window. 2733 , 2752, 2771, ... That's why after few days (closing and opening the windows like this 40 times per hour), I can't open anymore application without killing xchat and thunderbird. [Bug 263211] Re: apps-wont-open-due-to-maximum-clients-reached-error
Hi, I'm also affected by this bug with ubuntu 9.10. Maybe it goes faster to trigger in my case as I have 2 monitors. It could be related to kdelibs as i installed them to be able to use Kate. And I noticed that kate used 1 client connection for each file opened as a tab in my kate window. Closing a kate with 3 tabs reduced my xlsclients | wc -l from 44 to 38 removing 4 kates and 2 knotify4. Isn't there a tweak to change xlsclients max value ?
