[Bug 1076944] Re: Libreoffice crash when I try to save the files
I had a similar problem with Kubuntu 12.10. Someone suggested it was a problem with the KDE Dialogs and ibus. I turned off the KDE dialogs in LibreOffice options and no more crash...but I think it could be related to something interacting with the KDE dialogs (like ibus?). Anyway, the LibreOffice dialogs aren't nearly as nice, but I haven't experimented more to see if I could get it to work by removing some other libraries... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1076944 Title: Libreoffice crash when I try to save the files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1076944/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 720446] Re: memory leak in compiz when using places, dashboard, and exposing launcher icons with multiple quicklists
Andreas, Wish I could say the same...I'm still seeing a slow but steady creep in memory on the Compiz process, and opening and closing Dash (with the Super key, pressed repeatedly) shows a regular climb of about 0.5mb per open/close. This is on a relatively new computer (Phenom Quad, 4GB Ram) with Nvidia 8400GS PCIe card. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/720446 Title: memory leak in compiz when using places, dashboard, and exposing launcher icons with multiple quicklists To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/indicator-multiload/+bug/720446/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 452874] Re: inline images do not go out when sending emails in evolution
Was this patch ever applied? I'm seeing the same problem with Ubuntu 11.04, 64-bit, and the latest Evolution. The evolution-rss is listed as 0.2.2-0ubuntu1. It's causing the same problem. [Bug 793764] Re: Top area of screen black when rotating screen
I have the same problem on a Toshiba Portege M400. Same version of Natty (i386), same graphics (Intel 945). My screen resolution is 1400x1050. If I toggle it down to 1024x768, it rotates okay. [Bug 720446] Re: possible memory leak in compiz when using places, dashboard
I also saw a rapid rise in memory usage with compiz on an update from 10.10 to 11.04 on two different machines (both with Nvidia 8400GS). So I tried a fresh, clean install on one of these computers. It seemed fine for the first day, but the next day compiz was at 2GB memory usage. I was also using indicator-multiload and terminated it. This stopped the constant steady rise in compiz memory usage, but did not stop all memory increase. Now, with the System Monitor open and Compiz highlighted, I can bring up either Dash (Super key), Alt-F2, or Apps (Super-a) and watch the Compiz memory increase as I open and close these launchers. It goes up roughly 1MB per open/close. So I think that it is more than just the multiload indicator...that perhaps is something that shows up the problem more readily, but the problem is deeper and remains. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/720446 Title: possible memory leak in compiz when using places, dashboard -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 448600] Re: My machine froze while installing Sun JDK 6
This morning, I encountered the exact same error and consequences as posted above while trying to install the Sun Java runtime and plugin. I'm using the 9.10 beta, i386 version. I just noticed that I accidentally have Firefox 3.0 installed as well as 3.5. I'm not sure if that could have affected it. The unfortunate thing was that I had about 20 programs queued up for installation in the Software Center and now they are all gone. [Bug 31037] Re: Vino-server takes 90% of cpu when only listening for incoming connections
I just noticed this behaviour of vino-server on a netbook (Acer AspireOne) running Jaunty. It did not occur before. I tried a restart and the CPU usage still went up after restart (to about 60%). Running top from terminal showed vino-server near the top of the list. Ran a killall on it and CPU went down to normal. Someone mentioned capslock. I did happen to have caps lock on when I first noticed the problem. But I don't have it on now, so I don't know if that is related. I also don't see the problem on my other computers yet (most of which also run Jaunty). -- Vino-server takes 90% of cpu when only listening for incoming connections https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/31037 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 343714] Re: Kubuntu Jaunty KDE 4.2 very high memory usage
I just noticed a similar problem. I just upgraded this computer (2 gb RAM) to Jaunty last night (but I installed Ubuntu, not Kubuntu). Now, after about 6 hours of use my System Monitor shows 38% memory in use by programs and 61% in use as cache. We also have Ubuntu 9.04 on a Netbook with 1.5gb of RAM, and it doesn't seem to have the same problem, although it is not used heavily (mostly just a program or two open at a time). I just ran a test on another computer we have in the house with 2gb RAM and Jaunty recently installed. It also shows the cache memory climbing with each application opened, especially KDE apps, although I only tested it for a while, and did not get it over about 50% combined program RAM and Cache RAM. My computer seems worse, but I'm using the Kontact suite and a number of other KDE programs regularly. This problem did not exist in Ubuntu 8.10. There is definitely something going wrong here, but I can't pinpoint it. I tried killing processes, but couldn't get the cache ram to go down. -- Kubuntu Jaunty KDE 4.2 very high memory usage https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/343714 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 376292] [NEW] Editing date field causes weird behaviour
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org I have a simple spreadsheet that I use to track my home-based business. It has a date field in the first column on the left, and since the sheet is only for the current year, I've chosen to format the field as Jan 01, leaving the year hidden. I usually just copied the format down the column to the next cells (either by dragging the small square on the right corner, or by selecting all the cells and choosing the format as MMM DD). So, when I entered a new row, I just typed in the current Month/Day, and the year was assumed (and formatted but hidden) to be the same as the last entry. This worked fine until the recent update to OpenOffice (3.0.1). Now when I try to enter, for example, Mar 21, as soon as I leave the cell it gets set to Mar 01, and the year is taken from the day number (usually), so the above example would yield Mar 01, 2021. Very annoying! It is not a problem if I format the MM DD as numbers, such as 05-01, but only when I type in the Month as a string. This used to work! I just tried the same exercise in Gnumeric and it works the way it used to in Open Office...so I'm can't be doing it wrong.
