[Bug 514319] Re: Animated mouse pointer disappears some times
I've found out, that the problem emerges, when following Compiz settings of Enhanced Desktop Zoom are set: - Scale the mouse pointer - Dynamic mouse pointer scale - Hide original mouse pointer If they are activated and I've used desktop zoom, all animated mouse pointer disappearing. However the problem is not solved, by restarting compiz (it persists even, when I only use metacity). Therefore I think, it is still a driver problem. It also does not disappear when suspending/resume the machine. I also have sometimes problems with the display of my mouse pointer (it sometimes got scrambled when moved between two screens or is flickering every 400px). One year ago, these problems happend in an older version of the radeon driver very often, until a bug I reported were fixed. Since then these problems only appear very seldom. ** Attachment added: dmesg http://launchpadlibrarian.net/39732356/dmesg.txt -- Animated mouse pointer disappears some times https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/514319 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 514319] [NEW] Animated mouse pointer disappears some times
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati Ubuntu normally shows an animated mouse pointer to indicate load (similar to the hour glass on Windows). On my Radeon Mobility x1400, this mouse pointer has some strange behaviour sometimes: it is shown for a fraction of a second and then it disappears completely. It is really problematic, since I don't see any mouse pointer unless GNOME switches back to the non-animated arrow pointer. This bug didn't occur in the beginning of my Karmic installation - so I think it emerged after an update one month ago. My system is running in a dual head configuration with Compiz. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Animated mouse pointer disappears some times https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/514319 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 482313] [NEW] dhclient-script ignores option host-name from DHCP-server

[Bug 391757] Re: Nautilus hangs when clicking on preview images
The problem is, that this bug does look like a crash of Nautilus, since nautilus hangs completely, unless the thread completely rendered the SVG. Since SVG and Inkscape gains on popularity it is a real issue for everyone, who wants to make image processing on Ubuntu. It's also a little bit strange, why Nautilus crashes, only when opening another file (using double-click or right-click and Open). Why doesn't it hang already when creating the thumbnail of other files? For me it looks like that there is some small locking issue inside Nautilus when opening files during a thumbnail is generated... -- Nautilus hangs when clicking on preview images https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/391757 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 395753] [NEW] Bluetooth and WLAN enabled after resume
Public bug reported: If I had disabled Bluetooth or WLAN on my notebook and make suspend-2-ram and resume again, they got re-activated. This is a bad behavior for various reasons: 1. Network manager got confused, because it still thinks, that WLAN is inactive - but the WLAN LED is online. 2. I have to disable BT / WLAN again. I don't want to do this over and over. Often, I suspend my computer only for some minutes, just to bring in from one place to another (like walking from my home, to the university - or changing the train). And after that, its annoying to deactivate BT and WLAN again. 3. If I forgot to disable it again, the WLAN chip will consume power of my battery (and perhaps the BT too). It would be better, if the last state got recovered. So if BT or WLAN was deactivated before suspend, it should be deactivated after resume. If it was activated, it should be re-activated. [Bug 391757] Re: Nautilus hangs when clicking on preview images
I analyzed the problem and found out, that it does not seem to be a problem with the images I try to open. The problem seems to be a complex SVG file that got visited when I browse to the destination directory of the image. I checked the debugger output of gdb and I saw, that nautilus start a new thread whenever I visit the directory with this SVG file. But because this SVG file is really complex, this thread doesn't terminate in an apropriate time. When I open another image without this thread to be terminated, nautilus hangs... (Perhaps, because it waits for a lock to be released by the thread that creates the SVG preview) Unfortunately I can't disclose this SVG file by now. But it is apparently very complex - Inkscape needs a lot of memory and time to render it. So perhaps the SVG thumbnailing mechanism of nautilus has to be prevented to thumbnail complex images... -- Nautilus hangs when clicking on preview images https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/391757 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
